Annamalai University Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria
B.Sc MIT/MLT
Candidate should be a Citizen of India
Overseas Citizens of India who are registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955) are eligible to apply for Para Medical courses subject to the production of proof of such registration
Age Limit – Candidates should have completed 17 years of age and maximum age is 30 years as on 31st December 2020. For SC / SCA / ST candidates maximum age is raised to 35 years. Evidence should be produced.
Eligibility for Admission:
Medical Laboratory Technology
Every candidate desiring to join the B.Sc.(Medical Laboratory Technology) Degree Course should have passed the HSC/CBSE/ISC or other equivalent examination with any one of the subject combinations given below
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other subject; or
Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
Vocational stream with Laboratory Technology
Medical Imaging Technology
Every candidate desiring to join the B.Sc.(Medical Imaging Technology) Degree Course should have passed the HSC/CBSE/ISC or other equivalent examination with any one of the subject combinations given below:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other subject; or
Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
Minimum Eligibility Marks –
- Individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology or Mathematics both in Theory and Practical with a minimum of 35% of marks and with not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects. (For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC Candidates)
- Individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology (or) Mathematics both in Theory and Practical with a minimum of 35% of marks and with not less than 35% aggregate marks in the above subjects. (For SC / SCA / ST Candidates)
- English: A Pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory.
M.Sc Nursing
- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife of Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
- The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks. For
- SC/ST candidates minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- The candidate should have undergone B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
- Those seeking M.Sc. Nursing admission for specialization in Obstetrical & Gynaecological Nursing and Community Health Nursing shall be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife, whereas for other specialties the candidate shall be a registered Nurse.
- Basic B.Sc.Nursing candidates should have minimum one year of work experience in a hospital or in a college or in a school of Nursing or in Community Health Programme after
- Registration with the State Nursing Council.
- Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- The candidate shall be medically fit.
- The foreign nationals should obtain equivalency certificate from Indian Nursing Council
MPT
Every candidate seeking admission to the First Year of the MPT program must have acquired the B.P.T. degree of Annamalai University (or) a degree of any other University
recognized as equivalent thereto by this University.
Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of:
i. Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination [12 years course]
(or)
ii. Senior School Certificate Examinations [10+2], Pre-degree Examinations [10+2]
(or)
iii. An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science [Physics, Chemistry, and Biology] and English with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks [PCBE].
Note:
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe are however eligible if they have 40% of aggregate marks (PCBE).
- Only female candidates can apply.
- Candidates must be unmarried.
For B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.Sc. (Horti.) Programme
- Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions given below as on the last date of submission of application are eligible to apply. The candidates passing the qualifying examination after the last date of submission of application shall not be considered Candidate should be a Citizen of India.
- Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. in Tamil Nadu, are eligible to apply. They need not enclose the “Nativity Certificate”.
- Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should enclose a copy of the “Nativity Certificate”.
- Children of Central Government Employees may also apply for admission, irrespective of their native, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS at the time of submission of application which should be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect.
- Sons and daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadre Officers are eligible to apply.
- Children of Employees in Public Sector or Government recognized Institutions who at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may also apply, irrespective of their domicile, provided a certificate from the employer is enclosed along with the application that the person is a Permanent Employee of the Firm or Institution concerned with evidence like Income Tax return, PF Slip, etc. and is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS.
- Other State candidates who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. in Tamil Nadu, are eligible to apply. They need not enclose the “Nativity Certificate”
- Age should not be above 21 years as on 1st July of the year of admission. There is no age limit for SC/SCA/ST candidates.
- Qualifying Examinations and Eligibility Pass in the Higher Secondary Course (HSC) Academic stream or Vocational stream or its equivalent qualifying examination with 10+2 years of schooling with minimum average percentage as given below will alone be eligible.
- Higher Secondary Course (HSC) (Academic) / Equivalent Examination
Candidates who studied any one of the following groups are eligible.
- Group I: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Eligibility Criteria IV. Eligibility Criteria 16 Group II: Biology, Physics, Chemistry with any one of the following subjects as fourth (elective) subject viz., Computer Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nutritional & Dietetics and Home Science.
- Group II (A): Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
2. Higher Secondary Course (HSC) (Vocational) / Equivalent Examination
Five per cent of the seats are set apart for the candidates who qualified under Vocational Stream. Such candidates shall not be considered under the general merit list prepared for the candidates with Higher Secondary Course (HSC) (Academic) / Equivalent Examination. Candidates who passed Higher Secondary Course (HSC) under Vocational Stream and studied Biology and Agricultural Practices as vocational subject including theory and practicals are eligible for B.Sc.(Hons.) in Agriculture / B.Sc.(Hons.) in Horticulture
For B.F.Sc. Programme
Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions given below as on the last date of submission of application are eligible to apply. The candidates passing the qualifying examination after the last date of submission of application shall not be considered.
- Candidate should be a Citizen of India.
- Overseas citizens of India who are registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955) are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences (B.F.Sc.) Degree Programme subject to the production of proof of such registration.
Qualifying Examinations and Eligibility
- A pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / CBSE / any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto and fulfilling the following requirements are required.

Annamalai University Admission 2020 Application Form
The application form is released online by Annamalai University. Candidates seeking admission in various courses have to fill online application or download the application form from the official website of Annamalai University. The application can be filled before the last date. Candidates are requested to read the instruction carefully before filling the online application.
Annamalai University Admission 2020 Admission Procedure
For GNM:
The selection of candidates to all the programs will be made on the basis of marks in the prescribed subjects of the qualifying examinations
For MPT:
The selection of candidates to all the programs will be made on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Examination and an Interview, which shall be conducted on the same day or the day following the entrance examination, at Annamalainagar, at their own expenses. Date of Entrance Examination and Interview will be intimated later.
Selection of Candidates for Counselling to B.Sc.(Hons.) in Agriculture/ B.Sc.(Hons.) in Horticulture.
- Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks in their qualifying examination and ranked as per the ranking procedure given below in 7.2.
- Separate counselling will be held for academic and vocational stream candidates.
- Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of merit based on the overall rank and community-wise rank list and allotment of the course chosen by the candidates will be made.
- Candidates have to opt for the programme that is available at the time of counselling.
- In cases where more than one candidate have got the same aggregate marks in the common merit list, the inter-se merit among such students shall be determined as given in 7.3.
Selection of Candidates for Counselling to B.Fsc.
The selection of candidates will be based on the eligibility criteria mentioned above following the rule of reservation followed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Annamalai University Admission 2020 Counselling Procedure
For GNM
- Counseling will be held at the Administrative Office, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar, Chidambaram.
- Counselling Schedule will be available on the website. Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit.
- Counseling for the special category will be held before the general counseling.
- Counseling Fee: Candidates have to pay a Counselling fee of Others ` 500/- (for SC/SCA/ST of ` 250/- by cash or DD in favour of “The Registrar, Annamalai University” payable at Chennai at the time of counselling. The counseling fee is not refundable.
- Candidates who fail to attend the counselling at the specified date and time in a particular phase of counseling will forfeit their right to admission on that phase.
- Eligible candidates who have applied may appear for counselling according to their merit list, one hour before the counselling session along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of receipt of individual communication.
- The date, time, and venue for counseling will be intimated to the candidates, through leading dailies and Annamalai University website. No change of date/time of counseling is permissible. University authorities are not responsible for any postal delay, or nonreceipt of intimation for counseling. Candidates who do not attend counseling will forego the claim for admission.
- If a candidate could not attend the counseling on the specified date and time, he/she can attend on a subsequent time/date, during the counseling period. But the candidate will be offered a seat only if it is available, at the time in the respective category. However such candidates cannot claim a seat as per original seniority in the merit list.
- After allotment of all seats in various categories the applicants, who have paid the requisite counseling fee but did not get admission will be placed in the waiting list in the order of their merit and in case vacancies arise at a later stage, due to non-joining of selected candidates or for any other reasons they will be admitted in the order of merit by following the rule of reservation.
For B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.Sc. (Horti.) Programme

- The counselling fee is not refundable.
- Candidates who fail to attend the counselling at the specified date and time in a particular phase of counselling will forfeit their right to admission on that phase.
- Eligible candidates who have applied may appear for counselling according to their merit list, one hour before the counselling session along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of receipt of individual communication.

B.Sc.(Agriculture) / B.Sc.(Horticulture)
Selection shall be made under seven categories, namely OC, BC, BC (Muslim), MBC/DNC, SC, SCA and ST, following the rules of reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu as follows:
- 5% of the total seats available are reserved for differently abled persons as per norms laid down by the Government.
- Tamil Nadu native candidates alone will be considered for communal reservations. The community recorded in the certificate of Tamil Nadu native candidate should figure in the list of communities approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu (Annexure-IX).
- The applicants from Tamil Nadu State should have obtained permanent community certificate (for SC/SCA/ST/MBC & DNC, BC and BC Muslim candidates) in permanent card format only from the authorities given below on or before the last date prescribed for submission of filled-in application. Community Certificate obtained after the last date prescribed for submission of filled-in applications will not be considered.
For B.F.Sc Programme
Reservation of seats for candidates belonging to ST/SC/MBC/BC/OC communities will be made as per the Rule of Reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Among the above reservations, 5% of seats have been included for differently-abled persons as per norms laid down by the Government.
