Annamalai University has released notification from the eligible candidates for admission into various courses like Agriculture / Horticulture and B.F.Sc Programme Admission for the academic year 2018-2019. Candidates can apply online from the official website of Annamalai University. Annamalai University has been authorized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, under Tamil Nadu Admission in Professional Education Institutions Act 2006 (TN Act No. 3 of 2007), to admit candidates to the above said courses offered by the University.

Annamalai University has released counselling details For admission to BFSc and B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.Sc. (Horti.) 2018 Programmes. Candidates can check all the details below. The random number for various courses for counselling is now available. Candidates have to enter their application form number to get the random number. Note :

  • Counseling will be held at the Administrative Office, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar, Chidambaram.
  • Counseling Schedule will be available on the website. Candidates will be called for counseling in the order of their merit.
  •  Counseling for the special category will be held before the general counseling.
  • It shall be the responsibility of the candidates who got revised marks in RV / RT [Re-Valuation / Re-Totalling] to attend the counseling as per their revised mark mentioned in the schedule.
  • Admission will be based on merit, following the Rule of Reservation.
  • Selection shall be made under seven categories namely OC, BC, BCM, MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST following the rule of reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Counselling fee Rs.2000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/SCA/ST Candidates)(non refundable) has to be paid by the candidates, by Cash or DD (in favour of ‘The Registrar, Annamalai University’ from any Nationalised/Scheduled Bank payable at Chennai) at the time of Counselling.
  • Candidate should bring the originals and 2 sets of the photocopy of the following Certificates / Documents while attending counseling.
    1. 10th Mark sheet
    2. HSC / Equivalent Mark sheet
    3. Transfer Certificate
    4. Permanent Community Certificate Card for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM
    5. Nativity Certificate (if applicable)
    6. Income Certificate (if applicable)
    7. Recent Passport Size Photographs (3 Numbers)
    8. First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration (if applicable)
  • The Overall Rank and Community Rank are provisional subjects to production/confirmation of relevant records including Community Certificate, Higher Secondary Mark Sheet, Nativity Certificate (if applicable) etc.
  • Downloading counseling call letter or attending counseling does not guarantee Admission to Programmes. Admission depends on rank and availability of seats and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates are advised to see the Prospectus for Fee structure and other details.
  • Candidates are informed to read the instructions given in the Counselling call letter and prospectus carefully.
  • Candidates are advised to be present in the Counselling session, one hour before the scheduled time, with their original certificates for verification.
  • University reserves the right to admission, subject to eligibility criteria and norms.
  • Candidates who fail to attend the counseling at the specified date and time in a particular phase of counseling will forfeit their right to admission on that phase.
  •  Eligible candidates who have applied may appear for counseling according to their merit list, one hour before the counseling session along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of receipt of individual communication.
  •  The date, time and venue for counseling will be intimated to the candidates, through leading dailies and Annamalai University website. No change of date/ time of counseling is permissible. University authorities are not responsible for any postal delay, or nonreceipt of intimation for counseling.
  • Candidates who do not attend counseling will forego the claim for admission.
  • Due to unforeseen reasons, if a candidate could not attend the Counselling on the specified date and time, he/she can authorize his/her parent on his/her behalf and the parent’s decision will be binding on the candidate. The authorization letter must be in the prescribed format

Application Form

The application form has been released by the Annamalai University. Candidates seeking admission in various courses have to fill online application from the official website of Annamalai University. The application can be filled online before the last date. Candidates are requested to read the instruction carefully before filling the online application.

Application Fee: DD drawn in favor of “The Registrar, Annamalai University” payable at Chennai for Rs. 400/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu and Rs. 800/- in the case of others.

Eligibility Criteria

For B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.Sc. (Horti.) Programme

A Pass in the Higher Secondary Course (HSC) Academic stream or Vocational stream or its equivalent qualifying examination with 10+2 years of schooling with minimum average percentage as given below will alone be eligible.

Age Limit: Age should not be above 21 years as on 1st July of the year of admission. There is
no age limit for SC/SCA/ST candidates.

For Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences (B.F.Sc.) Degree Programme

A pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / CBSE / any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto and fulfilling the following requirements are required.

Note: When the candidates produce grade certificates, they have to produce the actual marks also. Otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the subjects will be taken into account.

Selection Procedure

For B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.Sc. (Horti.) Programme

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks in their qualifying examination and ranked as per the ranking procedure is given below.
  • Separate counseling will be held for academic and vocational stream candidates.
  • Candidates will be called for counseling in the order of merit based on the overall rank and community-wise rank list and allotment of the course chosen by the candidates will be made.
  • Candidates have to opt for the programme that is available at the time of counseling
  • In cases where more than one candidate has got the same aggregate marks in the common merit list, the inter-se merit among such students shall be determined.

Ranking Procedure: Mark in each of the four main subjects would be converted to 50 as follows,
and the aggregate of the four subjects would be taken for ranking for the maximum of 200 marks.

For Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences (B.F.Sc.) Degree Programme

The selection of candidates will be based on the eligibility criteria mentioned in 5.3(i) & (ii) prospected attached below following the rule of reservation followed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Hostel Fee

Annamalai University is a residential University and admission to the hostel is compulsory. The details of charges for accommodation in different hostels are as given below.


  • This fee has to be paid by the students at the time of joining the hostel and would exclusively cover the room rent and establishment charges. The mess charges which are in addition could be adjusted through the scholarship amount.

For B.F.Sc Programme

Admission to Hostel : Admission to the hostel will be strictly restricted to actual accommodation available and no associate will be allowed. The room rent and establishment charges will be at the rate fixed from time to time.
