Annamalai University has released notification from the eligible candidates for admission into various courses like Agriculture / Horticulture and B.F.Sc Programme Admission for the academic year 2017-2018.  Candidates can apply online from the official website of Annamalai University. Annamalai University has been authorized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, under Tamil Nadu Admission in Professional Education Institutions Act 2006 (TN Act No. 3 of 2007), to admit candidates to the above said courses offered by the University.

Counselling Venue : Administrative Office, Annamalai University Campus, Annamalainagar – 608 002, Chidambaram, Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu.

Note :

  • Counselling call letter can be downloaded from above links. No individual call letter will be sent.
  • Individual intimation by way of SMS is also sent to the mobile number given by the candidates in their application.
  • Allotment of seats depends on the rank and availability of seats. In total there are 500 seats in B.Sc. (Agriculture) (475 seats for academic stream and 25 seats for vocational stream)
  • Candidates, can attend the counselling as per the date and time and cut-off mark mentioned in the schedule.
  • It shall be the responsibility of the candidates who got revised marks in RV / RT [Re-Valuation / Re-Totalling] to attend the counselling as per their revised mark mentioned in the schedule.
  • Admission will be based on merit, following the Rule of Reservation.
  • Selection shall be made under seven categories namely OC, BC, BCM, MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST following the rule of reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Counselling fee Rs.2000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/SCA/ST Candidates)(non refundable) has to be paid by the candidates, by Cash or DD (in favour of ‘The Registrar, Annamalai University’ from any Nationalised/Scheduled Bank payable at Chennai) at the time of Counselling.
  • Candidate should bring the originals and 2 sets of photocopy of the following Certificates / Documents while attending counselling.
    1. 10th Mark sheet
    2. HSC / Equivalent Mark sheet
    3. Transfer Certificate
    4. Permanent Community Certificate Card for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM
    5. Nativity Certificate (if applicable)
    6. Income Certificate (if applicable)
    7. Recent Passport Size Photographs (3 Numbers)
    8. First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration (if applicable)
  • The Overall Rank and Community Rank are provisional subject to production/confirmation of relevant records including Community Certificate, Higher Secondary Mark Sheet, Nativity Certificate (if applicable) etc.
  • Downloading counselling call letter or attending counselling does not guarantee Admission to Programmes. Admission depends on rank and availability of seats and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates are advised to see the Prospectus for Fee structure and other details.
  • Candidates are informed to read the instructions given in the Counselling call letter and prospectus carefully.
  • Candidates are advised to be present in the Counselling session, one hour before the scheduled time, with their original certificates for verification.
  • University reserves the right to admission, subject to eligibility criteria and norms.
  • Candidates can download the Counselling call letter from 21.07.2017 onwards from the official website by entering their Application number and Date of Birth.
  • Candidates shall only opt for the vacancies available at their turn.

Eligibility Criteria

For B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.Sc. (Horti.) Programme

A Pass in the Higher Secondary Course (HSC) Academic stream or Vocational stream or its equivalent qualifying examination with 10+2 years of schooling with minimum average percentage as given below will alone be eligible.

For Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences (B.F.Sc.) Degree Programme

A pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / CBSE / any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto and fulfilling the following requirements are required.

Annamalai University 2017 Selection Procedure

For B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.Sc. (Horti.) Programme

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks in their qualifying examination and ranked as per the ranking procedure given below.
  • Separate counselling will be held for academic and vocational stream candidates.
  • Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of merit based on the overall rank and community-wise rank list and allotment of the course chosen by the candidates will be made.
  • Candidates have to opt for the programme that is available at the time of counselling
  • In cases where more than one candidate have got the same aggregate marks in the common merit list, the inter-se merit among such students shall be determined.

Ranking Procedure

Mark in each of the four main subjects would be converted to 50 as follows,

Marks obtained / Maximum Mark × 50

and the aggregate of the four subjects would be taken for ranking for maximum of 200 marks.

For Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences (B.F.Sc.) Degree Programme

The selection of candidates will be based on the eligibility criteria mentioned in 5.3(i) & (ii) prospected attached below following the rule of reservation followed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Hostel Fee

Annamalai University is a residential University and admission to the hostel is compulsory. The details of charges for accommodation in different hostels are as given below.

  • This fee has to be paid by the students at the time of joining the hostel and would exclusively cover the room rent and establishment charges. The mess charges which are in addition could be adjusted through the scholarship amount.

For B.F.Sc Programme

The detail of fee to be paid by the candidate are given below

Admission to Hostel : Admission to the hostel will be strictly restricted to actual accommodation available and no associate will be allowed. The room rent and establishment charges will be at the rate fixed from time to time.
