What is Seat Allotment?

At the time of choice filling, a candidate needs to choose their desired course to pursue it, from their desired college from a list of available option. The final allotment is then done by the exam conducting body centrally and in order of the merit. A list is prepared and released, over www.jacdelhi.nic.in, enlisting various seats designated to various applicants.

NSIT, DTU and IGDTUW

Seats are allotted on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) of the candidate in the JEE (Main) 2019 examination as given by CBSE. To be precise. JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 marks are required for B. E. / B. Tech. programmes, whereas JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 marks are needed for B. Arch admission. Details like category, region, minimum qualification, eligibility criterion, choices filled etc. over the online application, filled by a candidate is considered.

Preparation of Merit list

On the basis of the marks procured from the online applications, the authorities prepare merit list for different course admission. The following factors are taken into consideration while preparing the merit list of IIIT Delhi.

  • Total marks obtained in Paper-1 in JEE Mains 2019 converted to the base of 100.
  • Bonus marks (if applicable, that too out of 10)
  • In the case of a tie, candidate with a higher rank in JEE Mains 2019 shall rank higher.

First Round of Counselling

  • The authorities take the choices filled by the candidates during the online registration on the JAC Delhi website. Institute wise cutoffs, along with selected candidates are enlisted in the seat allotment results.
  • Provisional Admission letter is provided over candidate’s login account on JAC Delhi website, which needs to be carried, along with other documents.
  • All those candidates, who are allotted a seat will have to pay the admission fee and report to the allotted University/ Institute for document verification. Failing to do so, the seat will be allotted to the next best candidate.

Second Round of Counselling

  • No new registrations are considered in this round.
  • Candidates can freeze/upgrade their allotted seat.

Who is eligible? The following types of candidates are eligible

  • Type – I: All those candidates who were primarily allotted a seat in the first round of counselling must visit the official website www.jacdelhi.nic.in, to know more about the seat allotted in this round.
  • Type – II: All candidates who had been allotted a seat in the first round and who had completed all the admission formalities are also advised to keep a check on the official website to know more about upgradation.

The choices submitted by the candidates will be processed centrally and the results would be made available on the website www.jacdelhi.nic.in. The counselling procedure remains same, where if a candidate is satisfied need to report to the allotted center and complete the admission formalities. The admission formalities needs to be completed within the stipulated time period only. Note that, type 1 candidates need to pay the admission fee, if satisfied with the allotted seat, whereas type 2 candidates are not. An online request needs to be submitted to the JAC authorities, if a candidate wants to pursue their first allotted option. Type – II candidates can also freeze their branch by submitting an online request through JAC website using candidate’s login.

Third, Fourth and Fifth and Sixth Round of counselling

Same as Second round.

Upgradation of Admitted candidates (after Sixth round)

  • Only those candidates who have been admitted but have not withdrawn their admission up to completion of the document verification stage of the fifth round of counselling are eligible for Upgradation.
  • The new allotment is not done here and the only upgradation of the candidates as mentioned above is done. Therefore, it is advised to candidates that they should exercise all the possible choices across Universities/Institutes while filling the choices. This Upgradation is made against the vacant seats after the last date of withdrawal up to which admission fee is refunded after deduction of Rs. 1000/- only.
  • There will be upgradation for candidates involving all the participating Institutes taking the maximum rank of last round of counselling cut off in each category & region of NSIT, DTU & IIITD as base cut off ranks.
  • After the upgradation of step 3, there will be internal upgradation within the admitted candidates of IGDTUW beyond the rank mentioned in step 3 above. These candidates may participate in the SPOT Round only after due submission of their willingness at the Spot Round Venue.

Note: Upgradation is not applicable for those candidates who have frozen their choice in the sixth round of counseling.

General Note

  • Candidates are requested to keep the last date in mind. If a student does not pay the balance fee within stipulated time his/her admission will be cancelled without any further notice.
  • A candidate can choose to freeze the branch who do not wish to upgrade. Login to freeze the branch. Branch once freezed cannot be unfreezed in any circumstances.
  • Admitted candidates do not have to report again in the further seat allotment rounds.
  • Candidates are advised to keep a track of the counselling schedule. Once any event gets missed by a candidate, the seat will be passed on to the next best one.
