West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development or WEBSCTE is a statutory body. It functions under the Department of Technical Education & Training (West Bengal). JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 is a common entrance test to get admissions in colleges or institutions that come under WEBSCTE. Every year, applications are invited for admission to the First Year Classes of Diploma in Engineering & Technology through JEXPO and Second Year Classes of Diploma in Engineering & Technology through VOCLET. JEXPO and VOCLET 2019

Admissions in Polytechnic will be done on the basis of the offline written test, followed by counseling. JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

WEBSCTE release eligibility criteria for both the entrance exams. Candidates must check their eligibility before applying for the admissions in the polytechnic courses. Eligibility Criteria mentioned below is according to the last year brochure, any changes in the criteria will be updated soon.

FOR JEXPO:

  •  Passed / Appeared in 10th standard with at least 35% marks in aggregate without the marks of the additional subject (without rounding up).
  • Mathematics, Physical Science (Science) and English are mandatory subjects in the qualifying examination and a candidate must acquire at least pass marks in all the three subjects as per his/her secondary board.
  • There is no upper age limit, but candidate’s date of birth should not be afterJuly 1, 2003.

FOR VOCLET: 

  • Passed / Appeared* (10+2) Examination from WBSCT&VE&SD (VED) [Erstwhile WBSCVET]
  • OR Passed 2 years’ continuous course of ITI after Madhyamik or equivalent examinations.
  • There is no age limit for this course.

Apart from above-mentioned criteria, a candidate must be physically and mentally fit. A medical fitness certificate must be produced at the time of admission having signature, seal and registration number of the medical practitioner.

JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 Application Form

Application forms for JEXPO AND VOCLET 2019 will be released on the official website only. Forms, as expected from last year procedure, will be released both offline and online. For offline application, candidates have to purchase the form from some selected ITIs, on cash payment of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for valid Kanyashree enrolees). For online application, candidates have to submit the form online with a Fee Payment of Rs. 450/- (Rs. 225/- for valid Kanyashree enrolees).

Candidates will have to complete the application form via registration, filling Personal Details, Qualification Details, Payment of fees and validation of Application form. Candidates are advised to fill all the information correctly and gather all the important documents before filling the application form.

JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 Admit Card

Admit cards for the JEXPO AND VOCLET 2019 will be released after the completion of application process. Candidates will be able to download the admit card after entering Application Form Number. It will contain name & address of the Examination Centre along with other essential details.

Applicant must bring admit card along with original photo identity card on the examination day. It is advised to keep the hard copy of the admit card till the completion of Admission process. The candidate should reach the examination hall 30 min before the start of the examination.

JEXPO

  • Paper 1 – Mathematics
  • Paper 2 – Physics & Chemistry

VOCLET

  • Paper 1 – Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry
  • Paper 2 – Mechanics & Computer

Both the paper for JEXPO and VOCLET will consist of multiple-choice questions that have to be answered on specially designed machine-gradable answer sheets (OMR Answer Sheet). Candidates should be extra cautious while marking the answer ie appropriate circles should be completely filled with Blue/Black ball point pen. More than one marked answer for any question will be treated as incorrect response/answer.

JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 Selection Process

After the conduction of written examination, merit list will be released on the official website and then students will be called for the counseling process. After the completion of counseling, final results will be released for the selected candidates. Admission will be on a provisional basis until the verification of documents submitted by the candidate.

JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 Result

WEBSCTE will release the merit list for the qualified candidates in the written test. The list will be available on the official website and no candidate will be informed separately about the result. It is important to note that candidates who will obtain ‘zero’ mark either in ‘Mathematics’ or ‘Physics & Chemistry’ or did not appear in any of the two papers of JEXPO shall not be merit-listed. Similarly, for VOCLET, candidates will not be merit-listed unless they score at least 20% marks in both the papers separately.

JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 Counselling

Admissions of candidates in the polytechnic institution for the academic session 2019-2020 will be done through counseling. Candidates have to produce important documents related to age, educational qualification, caste etc at the time of counseling. Candidates’ application is subject to cancellation at any point if he/she fails to produce any essential document required for the verification of eligibility of the applicant.

Candidates have to take admission in the specified time window only, failure to do so will make the candidate ineligible for the seat allotted to him/her.

After Admission in JEXPO OR VOCLET 2019

After final selection candidates have to register themselves registered under the council at the institute at the date notified by the institute. Candidates failing to do so will have their admission canceled and no request regarding it will be entertained.

JEXPO and VOCLET 2019 Reservation

WEBSCTE has the reservation for  22% and 6%  for SC and ST tribes. Reservation of OBC-A and OBC-B will be made as per Government of West Bengal and 3% for physically challenged candidates. Certificates in the name of students must be issued by Competent Authorities of the state. Candidates should note that applicants outside West Bengal will be treated as ‘General’ candidates, they need not fill SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B option of the Application Form.

Kanyashree Scheme

For the applicants covered under kanyashree scheme will get 50% fee waiver in admission/ registration/ counseling fees. Apart from that candidates will get priority for accommodation in hostels if hostel facility is available in the institute.
