Assam NEET Counselling 2026: Round 3 Result, Dates, Seats, Cut Off

Assam NEET Counselling 2026 is the online state quota counselling for MBBS and BDS seats in the government medical and dental colleges of Assam. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam runs it on NEET UG 2026 ranks; there is no separate exam. The Round 3 select list came out on 12 October 2026.

Assam NEET Counselling 2026 Important Dates

Rounds 1, 2 and 3 of the 2026 counselling are done, and Round 3 reporting runs on 13 and 14 October 2026. The national NEET UG schedule keeps 17 to 21 October 2026 for state stray vacancy rounds, but DME Assam has not announced one so far. The 2027 counselling is expected in August 2027, after the NEET UG 2027 result.

Which seats are filled through Assam NEET counselling?

DME Assam fills the state quota MBBS and BDS seats of the government medical and dental colleges of Assam. The 2026 select lists cover these 19 colleges.

Bongaigaon Medical College joined the 2026 counselling during Round 1, so choice filling reopened on 29 and 30 August 2026. To see how far each college went in 2026, check the Assam NEET cut off.

The 15% All India Quota seats of these colleges are not part of this counselling. For them, register in MCC NEET counselling.

How to apply for Assam NEET Counselling 2026?

You register online on the DME Assam website, then fill and lock choices in each round. If you registered in an earlier round, you do not register again: you can fill choices in the next round for a fresh seat or a change of college.

1. Check your name in the provisional Assam State Merit List of NEET UG 2026, published on 5 August 2026.
2. Register on the DME Assam website in the registration window. In 2026, Round 1 registration ran from 13 to 15 August, till 11:55 PM.
3. Keep ready the annexures of the Admission Rules (residency and category certificates) and your Class I to XII schooling proforma (annexures PDF).
4. Fill your choices of college and course in the choice-filling window.
5. Lock your choices in the locking slot (5 PM to 11:59 PM on the last day). Choices not locked by you are locked automatically.
6. Check the select list on the result date and report to the allotted college with original documents on the reporting dates.

The Round 3 admission notice says the admission fee follows Government of Assam notification No. MER.823273/22 dated 24 September 2026. You pay it at the college at the time of admission.

Who can apply for Assam NEET Counselling 2026?

You must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and be eligible under the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS courses) Rules 2017, amended up to 2026.

• You must meet the NEET UG 2026 cut-off score set by NTA.
• Your name must be in the Assam State Merit List. Assam candidates who wrote NEET UG 2026 from another state or UT are added to the list later.
• The rules ask for a permanent residency certificate (Annexure I) showing 20 years of continuous residence in Assam of you or your father or mother, issued by the Deputy Commissioner or an authorised officer.
• You must give proof of your schooling from Class I to Class XII in the prescribed proforma.
• OBC/MOBC candidates of the creamy layer must apply as General.
• Admission is subject to medical fitness, checked at the college.

Which categories get seats in Assam NEET counselling?

Seats are allotted by merit within each category, and every category registers and fills choices online. DME holds no separate offline counselling for reserved or special seats.

• Main quotas in the select list: UR, EWS, OBC/MOBC (NCL), SC, ST(P) (plains) and ST(H) (hills).
• Sub-categories named in the 2026 notice: Moran, Motak, Tai Ahom, Chutia, Koch Rajbongshi and TGL/Ex-TGL.
• Special categories: Freedom Fighters, Martyr of Assam Movement, victims of extremist violence, Ex-Servicemen and serving defence personnel, Sports and Orphan.
• PwD (Divyang) candidates: status is checked by the Medical Board at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital before admission.

How do the Assam counselling rounds and re-allotment work?

Each round has registration, choice filling, locking, seat processing, a select list and reporting at the college.

• If you joined a seat in Round 1 or 2 and get a new seat in Round 3, your earlier seat is cancelled automatically.
• If you move to another college, bring the acknowledgement receipt or proof that your certificates were released by the previous college.
• Candidates who joined or hold an MCC Round 3 seat cannot take part in Assam Round 3 and are weeded out.
• If you do not report on the reporting dates, your allotment is cancelled.
• After admission, sign an agreement in the prescribed format on the DME website and submit it to the principal within 15 days.

What documents do you need for Assam NEET counselling?

Carry these originals when you report to the allotted college, as asked in the 2026 admission notices and rules.

• NEET UG 2026 admit card (original)
• HSLC and HSSLC (Class 10 and 12) mark sheets and pass certificates, or equivalent
• Permanent residency certificate in the Annexure I format
• Class I to XII schooling record in the prescribed proforma
• OBC/MOBC (non-creamy layer), SC or ST certificate in the annexure format, if claimed
• Special category certificate (freedom fighter, ex-serviceman, sports, orphan and others), if claimed
• PwD certificate, for verification by the Medical Board at GMCH
• Release proof from your previous college, if you were re-allotted
