CENTAC Diploma Polytechnic Application Form 2020

The form will be released in online mode and no offline form will be released for the candidates. Candidates need to submit the scanned copies of the required documents at the time of filling the form online, the registration fee will be paid through online mode via Debit/Credit Card/DD of any authorized bank. Eligibility Criteria

For Regular admission: For Regular admission to the First year of the 3 year Polytechnic diploma courses, the student should have passed in the S.S.L.C. examination or an examination equivalent thereto acceptable by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

For Diploma in Modern Office Practice Course: H.Sc. (Academic Stream) or an examination equivalent thereto acceptable by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu with English as compulsory subject and Accountancy or Elements of Economics or Elements of Commerce as one of the subjects.

OR

• (b) HSC (Vocational Stream) or an examination equivalent thereto acceptable by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu with the respective specialization.

• (c) ITI in respective specialization and with SSLC qualification.

C. For Part-time diploma courses the student should have passed in:

• (a) S.S.L.C. examination or an examination equivalent thereto acceptable by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu with minimum of 2 years full time work experience in a registered firm /company/ industry / educational and / Government Autonomous organization in the relevant field on which admission is sought. OR
• (b) ITI in respective specialization and with SSLC qualification.

3	Electrical & Electronics Engineering	2 years of ITI in Electrician / Wireman or related trade.

How to fill CENTAC Diploma Polytechnic Application Form 2020?

Admission to Polytechnic Colleges is made in TWO modes as below:

1. Regular mode
   • Direct Entry (based on SSLC as Qualification) ( 3 years duration)
   • Lateral Entry to the 2nd Year (based on HSC / ITI as Qualification) (2 years duration)
2. Part Time Mode (Only in Motilal Nehru Govt. Polytechnic College). Direct Entry based on SSLC / ITI and with Experience (4 years duration)

There is a certain procedure for filling the application form online from the official website. Candidates must go through the following steps to know the procedure.

• Visit the official website (centacpuducherry.in) or get the direct link on this page.
• Select the course you want to go for and click on the “Apply Online” option.
• Fill the asked details accurately and review the form before submitting it.
• Click on the ”Submit” option for submission and confirmation.
• Upload the asked documents within the required dimensions while filling the form.
• It is mandatory for the candidates to upload the latest photograph within 20kb to 50kb in JPEG format only.

Selection Criteria

A. Regular Mode of Entry

The total percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination will determine the merit rank. Where grades are awarded instead of marks in the qualifying examination, only the minimum marks applicable to the respective grades in the particular subject will be taken into account for determining the merit rank.

Order of Priority for Tiebreak

• Date of Birth (Earlier born)
• Random number assigned

Merit List: The merit list is prepared based on the total marks scored in the qualifying examination and applying tie breaker wherever applicable.

B. Part Time Mode of Entry

1. The marks secured in SSLC / Qualifying examination shall be reduced to a base of 80 marks. Where grades are awarded instead of marks in the qualifying examination, only the minimum marks applicable to the respective grades in the particular subject will be taken into account for determining the merit rank.
2. 20 % Weightage will be given for work experience obtained after passing the qualifying examination. 4 marks for each completed year of experience will be given with a maximum of 20 marks

Selection shall be made as per ranking based on total marks secured in 1 and 2 above (80 + 20 = 100).

Merit list: The merit list is prepared on the composite marks arrived based on the marks in the qualifying examination and work experience and applying tie breaker wherever applicable.
