The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) is a Central University of India, established by an act of Indian Parliament (Act no. 25 of 2009) in 2009. The President of India assented this act on 20 March 2009, however the university act deemed to come into force on 15 January 2009. Like other Central Universities of India it is a teaching and research university. Central University ofJharkhand Admission 2018 details are given below. All the Students are required to register themselves online on the University website after declaration of results of CUCET-2018 to appear for the Counselling. The students whose name figures in the merit list as displayed on the University website and Notice-Boards are required to present themselves with all relevant documents in original at the time of Counselling.
Central University of Jharkhand Admission 2018
Admission to the Five years integrated M.Tech/M.B.A./M.Sc./M.A. courses, Three years Bachelor course, Two-years LL.M./ M.Tech/ M.B.A./ M.Sc./ M.A. courses and Ph.D. courses will be based on the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Admission to the Certificate & Diploma courses will be based on Internal Entrance Test. Marks of the candidates coming from the University of Cambridge will be based on the Association of Indian Universities criteria – in calculation of overall average percentage of marks of best 5 subjects, such candidates must include the best 5 A-Level subjects taken. If the number of A Level subjects falls short of 5, the remaining subjects maybe taken from O-Level for aggregating the overall percentage of marks of best 5 subjects.

Courses Offered, Intake & Eligibility Criteria
Two- Year Masters Programmes (Minimum Eligibility Criteria )
- Science, Technology & Management: Minimum 55% marks in qualifying degree for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/ PWD candidates
- Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences: Minimum 50 % marks in qualifying degree for general category and 45% marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/PWD candidates
- Theatre and Music: Minimum 45% marks in qualifying degree for general category and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/PWD candidates
Ph.D. Programmes (Minimum Eligibility Criteria)
Candidates for admission to the Ph. D. programme shall have a Master’s Degree or a Professional Degree in a relevant area declared equivalent to the Master’s Degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
Candidates possessing a degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme
