Eligibility Criteria

4 Years Integrated Bachelors Programme (CFPD + B. VOC)

5 Year Integrated Masters Programme (CFPD + B. VOC. + M. VOC.)

  • Should have completed 10+2 from a recognized board of education.

Master of Vocation in Crafts and Design

  • Should have completed Graduation in any discipline with an aptitude towards craft, fashion or design.
  • Students who will be appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

Application Form

For IICD entrance exam 2018, firstly candidates need to register and then fill the IICD application form in the online mode. The registration and application have to be filled up online at www.iicd.ac.in. The IICD entrance exam application form includes sections such as a candidate’s personal details, education details, and address. The applications have to be submitted on or before the due date.

Admit Card

The IICD admit card has been mailed to the candidates on their registered email IDs. It is important that candidates should bring the printout of the admit card to the IICD exam center as it is a mandatory document to be carried. Candidates need to bring at least one original (not photocopy or scanned copy) photo identification. The name on your photo identification must match your name as entered in the Registration form for Entrance Test. Acceptable forms of photo identification types are limited to Driver’s License, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, UID or Identity card of the last school.

Entrance Exam

IICD Entrance Test 2018 is conducting in two parts i.e. Part A – General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test and Part B – Material, Color & Conceptual Test, Personal Interview. IICD admissions 2018 will be done on the basis of a candidate’s score in the exams and performance in the interview round.

IICD Exam Syllabus

  • General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test: Test is designed to judge the abilities such as estimation of sizes and proportion, observation, synthesis and visual interpretation and general awareness
  • Material, Color & Conceptual Test: This test will assess the following abilities:
    • Intelligent use of materials, conceptualization, and realization of a 3-dimensional form& skill of handling materials.
    • To observe, think and expand ideas, create solutions based on a plan and strategy.
    • Ability to provide multiple solutions to the given problem with written description.

Material required for Material, Color & Conceptual Test: You must bring pens, pencils (2B, 4B & 6B), scissor, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, color pencils/dry pastels/water color etc.

  • Interview: To evaluate the individual personality in the prospective candidates:
    • Aptitude to crafts
    • Intelligence quotient (IQ)
    • Communication Ability
    • General Awareness about Crafts & Design
    • Overall Personal Achievements in academics and co-curricular activities.

Portfolio – It is advisable to bring some examples of your creative work to show the interview panel. This would help the panel to understand your capabilities. It could be anything that you have done yourself -Sketching, Painting, Embroidery, and Photography etc. or if you have worked wit the material, or written anything creative that could also be included in your portfolio.

IICD 2018 Result

The result for IICD 2018 entrance test for UG/INTG and PG Course has been uploaded on the institute’s official website. The institute published a list of selected candidates. All selected candidates will get an intimation of their selection through an Admission Letter, which will be sent through email. Details regarding the payment of fees at the time of admission, allotment of Hostel and date, time and venue of commencement of the academic session will be mentioned in the admission letter. The Indian Institute of Crafts & Design is also publishes a wait list on its official website. Result of Part A for UG & PG course has been declared by IICD. Students can check it from the official website as well as from the direct link given in result page.

Admission Criteria for Foreign Nationals/ NRI Category

  • The Foreign Nationals / NRI candidates seeking admission to IICD must have qualifications similar or equivalent to that required for Indian Candidates. The candidates selected under this category would need to obtain a valid residential permit or student visa for the prescribed duration of the programme and/or any other condition required as per the law of land (Government of India). The candidate must go through the process of entrance exam. In case the candidate is unable to travel to one of the centers in India, then the candidate will have to appear for a skype interview and are required to send the following:
    • Statement of purpose
    • Portfolio of work samples.
  • The medium of instruction at IICD is English and all aspirants applying to IICD are expected to possess the working knowledge of the English language.

Reservation of Seats and Seats Intake

The reservation percentages of categories for admission in IICD are as follows:

  • 27% for OBC,
  • 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST
  • 3% for PH candidates.
