What is the KMAT Kerala 2027 syllabus?
The official KMAT syllabus is short: four subjects based on the fundamentals of the 10+2 curriculum, with a fixed number of questions in each. CEE Kerala publishes no detailed topic list, so the sections below show what past KMAT papers have asked.

What is asked in KMAT English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension?
The English section tests spelling, vocabulary, grammar and reading. These question types appear in recent KMAT papers:
- Spelling: pick the misspelled or the correctly spelled word.
- Vocabulary: synonyms (words with the same meaning) and antonyms.
- Grammar: correct sentences, tense changes, direct and indirect speech, and fill in the blank with the right preposition.
- Reading comprehension: passages followed by questions.
What is asked in KMAT Quantitative Aptitude?
Quantitative Aptitude covers school-level arithmetic, algebra and geometry. Recent papers asked about:
- Simple and compound interest, profit and loss, ratio and averages.
- Time and work, and number problems such as remainders and sums of series.
- Mensuration, for example the area or perimeter of a field.
- Sets and surveys, and basic probability.
- Data interpretation from tables and charts.
What is asked in KMAT Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning?
This section tests whether you can judge data and reason in steps. Common question types in past papers:
- Data sufficiency: decide whether statement I, statement II or both are needed to answer.
- Analogies and odd one out.
- Ranking and arrangement in a row.
- Statements with conclusions.
- Figure series: choose the figure that fits the pattern.
What is asked in KMAT General Knowledge and Current Affairs?
The GK section mixes static general knowledge with current affairs, including Kerala and business topics. Recent papers asked about:
- Indian institutions, monuments and places.
- Union Budget and income tax facts.
- Kerala government missions and schemes.
- International bodies and agreements, sports, awards and appointments.
How are marks given in KMAT Kerala 2027?
Each correct answer gets 4 marks and each wrong answer loses 1 mark. A question you leave unanswered gets no marks and no deduction. Recent KMAT papers have been set in English.
