On the basis of the first counseling conducted by the University on 4th July, 2017, the following candidates have been selected category-wise/college-wise and as per preference order for admission to undergraduate programmes of different colleges of this University.
List of Candidates Called for 1st Counselling on 04 Jul 2017 at 10.00 AM for admission to Under Graduate Programmes of the University. The candidates at Sr. No. 1 to 600 are being called to attend the first counselling scheduled to be held on 04 July, 2017 (Tuesday) at 10.00 AM in the Dr L.S Negi Auditorium of the University. Further, all the candidates belonging to IRDP/BPL/CAPFs/PH category securing 60% marks mentioned in the column No. 8 of the list given hereunder may also appear in the said counselling on scheduled date and time.

For UG Programmmes
10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics from a recognized University/ Board with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (55% marks in case of SC/ ST/ PH category candidates/ in-service nominees of HP) in the above subjects. Or
Examination of a University/ Board/ College/ School in a foreign country recognized by the Academic Council as equivalent to 10+2 with science subjects provided the candidate has obtained at least 60% aggregate marks or ‘B’ grade/equivalent.
For PG (M.Sc.) Programmmes
B Sc Horticulture/B Sc (Hons) Horticulture/B Sc Forestry/B Sc (Hons) Forestry/ B Sc Agriculture/ B Sc (Hons) Agriculture/ B Sc with an OGPA of 6.00/10 under course credit system or with a minimum of 60% under annual system from a recognized University or degree from a foreign University with at least ‘B’ grade or its equivalent recognized by the University.
Admission to M Sc Programme shall be on the basis of merit of the qualifying degree plus written test i.e., on the basis of combined merit of written test plus OGPA/ percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree on 50:50 basis.

For MBA Programmmes
(A) MBA (Agribusiness) : B Sc Horticulture/ Forestry/ Agriculture/ Agricultural Engineering/B V Sc/ Graduate in other allied subjects with 4-year degree Programme with an OGPA of 5.50/10.00 (5.00/10.00 in case of SC/ ST category candidates) or its equivalent under course credit system or with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ ST category candidates) under annual system from a recognized University or degree from a foreign University with atleast `B’ grade or its equivalent.
(B) MBA : Graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ ST category candidates) under annual system or with an OGPA of 5.50/ 10.00 (5.00/ 10.00 in case of SC/ ST category candidates) or its equivalent under course credit system from a recognized University or degree from a foreign University with atleast ‘B’ grade or its equivalent.
For UG Programmmes
The candidate will be provided with a question paper and an OMR answer sheet. The candidate will fill the roll number on the answer sheet and mention choice for the relevant section(s). The candidate will not write his/her name or roll number at any other place on OMR answer sheet.
The question paper for entrance test will be of objective type carrying 100 marks (30 questions each carrying one mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology subjects and 10 questions carrying one marks shall be of general awareness related to Agriculture).
For PG Programmmes
The basis of admission to M Sc Programmes shall be merit as determined by the result of the qualifying degree plus written test to be conducted by this University on 2 nd July, 2017 on 50:50 basis. The basis of admission to Ph D Programmes shall be the merit of qualifying degree examination only.
The question paper for written test will be of objective type carrying 100 marks as under:
- Part-A: General Knowledge – 20 questions
- Part-B: Rural Awareness – 20 questions
- Part-C: Specialization (Optional) – 60 questions
Part-A and Part-B are compulsory for all, Part-C shall have the options. The candidate will choose the subject of specialization (optional) strictly in accordance with the nomenclature of qualifying degree.
For MBA Programmes
All eligible candidates shall have to appear in HP-CMAT examination and also apply separately to this University for admission to MBA programme.
(A) Written Test : All the eligible applicants seeking admission for normal as well as self-financing seats are required to appear in HP-CMAT to be conducted by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla on 3 rd June, 2017.
(B) Group Discussion and Personal Interview : Group Discussion and Personal Interview in respect of the shortlisted candidates, including those applying for self-financing seats, will be held on 31stJuly, 2017 and 1 st August, 2017 at 11.00 AM in the College of Horticulture. Candidates are required to produce original certificates for verification as specified.
The final selection will be based on the candidate’s overall performance in the written test (HP-CMAT), group discussion & personal interview and academic record as per weightage given below:-
- Written Test (HP-CMAT) : 80
- Group Discussion : 10
- Personal Interview : 10
