ICAR Entrance Exams – Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) looks after agricultural research and education in India. For agriculture UG admission, AIEEA UG is conducted, whereas, PG admissions are done on the basis of AIEEA PG exam. Earlier, ICAR used to hold both the exams but now the responsibility has been shifted to National Testing Agency (NTA). ICAR Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can check the eligibility required to match the following criteria to appear for ICAR entrance exam below.
ICAR AIEEA UG eligibility criteria
- Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- Candidates must have attended 16 years of age.
- Candidates must have passed the H.Sc or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics as a subject.
ICAR AIEEA PG eligibility criteria
- Candidates are required to be an Indian national.
- Students must be of less than 19 years.
- Candidates are required to have passed their graduation with four / six (10+6 B.Sc. Ag.) / five years (B.V.Sc. & AH) degree program from any recognized university.
- For admission to M.V.Sc. course candidates must have completed B.V.Sc. & A.H. courses with internship before the date of admission in the allotted university.
ICAR AIEEA AICE SRF / JRF (PGS) eligibility criteria
- Candidates are required to be a citizen of India.
- Students are required to be passed in their master’s degree programme with a minimum of Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) from any recognized University.
- Candidates must be of 20 years of age as on July 01, of the year of admission.
ICAR (NTS) Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for National Talent Scholarship (NTS) below.
- Candidates are required to have completed their studies in approved courses and takes admission in the Agricultural University located outside their State of domicile.
- Candidates must maintain merit and good conduct as certified by Head of the College / University / Institution.
- Candidates are not allowed to be absent without prior permission and do not participate in any agitation / strike etc. during the period.
- Candidates may not be doing any job or part-time job.
- Candidates must not accept any other financial assistance / scholarship during the undergraduate programme.
- Candidates may not leave their course of study within one month of the program.
- Candidates may change the initial subject allocated for which he / she has been awarded the NTS during their studies.

ICAR Entrance Exam Admission Process
Stage 1 – Candidates can check the admission process after ICAR examination below.
Stage 2 – At first candidates are required to apply from the official site i.e. ntaicar.nic.in.
Stage 3 – Then NTA calls all the applicants to appear for the AIEEA-UG, AIEEA-PG and ICAR AICE SRF/JRF (PGS) entrance test for UG, PG and Ph.D. courses respectively.
Stage 4 – Then as per the merit of the candidates in the entrance test NTA releases a merit rank list with the names of all the qualified candidates.
Stage 5 – All the qualified candidates are then required to appear for the counseling and at the time of ICAR online counseling the document verification of the candidates is done by the authorities.
Stage 6 – Lastly, candidates are required to report at their allotted colleges and submit the asked amount of the course fee.

Undergraduate Courses
Type of Examination: LAN based CBT
Language: The language of the paper is English and Hindi.
Number of Questions: There are a total of 150 questions.
Type of Questions: All the questions of GUMAT 2020 is of objective (MCQ) type.
Total marks: Total marks for the test is 600.
Marking Scheme: Candidates get +4 mark for each correct answer and they lose -1 mark for each wrong answer.
Duration of the test: GUMAT 2020 is of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Postgraduate Courses
Type of Examination: LAN based CBT
Language: The language of the paper is English.
Number of Questions: There are a total of 160 questions.
Type of Questions: All the questions of GUMAT 2020 is of objective (MCQ) type.
Total marks: Total marks for the test is 640.
Marking Scheme: Candidates get +4 mark for each correct answer and they lose -1 mark for each wrong answer.
Duration of the test: GUMAT 2020 is of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Ph.D. Courses
- Type of Examination: LAN based CBT
- Language: The language of the paper is English.
- Number of Questions: There are a total of 200 questions.
- Type of Questions: All the questions of GUMAT 2020 is of objective (MCQ) type.
- Total marks: Total marks for the test is 800.
- Marking Scheme: Candidates get +4 mark for each correct answer and they lose -1 mark for each wrong answer.
- Duration of the test: GUMAT 2020 is of 3 hours.
