What is in the AP ICET 2027 syllabus?
The AP ICET syllabus tests reasoning, English and basic mathematics, split into three sections with fixed question counts for each topic.

What does Section A, Analytical Ability, cover?
Section A has 75 questions on reasoning and data, in two parts.
- Data Sufficiency (20): a question with two statements; you decide whether statement (i) alone, (ii) alone, both together, or neither is enough to answer it. The four answer choices follow this fixed order.
- Sequences and series: number and letter analogies, completing a:b::c:d patterns, odd one out, missing number in a series.
- Data analysis: questions on data given in a table, graph, bar diagram, pie chart, Venn diagram or passage.
- Coding and decoding: coding or decoding words with a given letter code.
- Date, time and arrangement: calendar and clock problems, blood relations, arrivals, departures and schedules, seating arrangements, and symbol and notation interpretation.
What does Section B, Communication Ability, cover?
Section B has 70 questions on English used in daily and business communication.
- Vocabulary (15): words used in day-to-day communication.
- Functional Grammar (20): grammar as used in everyday and business contexts.
- Business and Computer Terminology (15): basic terms and concepts from computers and business writing such as letters, reports, memoranda, agendas and minutes.
- Reading Comprehension (20): questions on 4 passages, testing understanding and inference.
What does Section C, Mathematical Ability, cover?
Section C has 55 questions on arithmetic, algebra and geometry, and statistics.
- Arithmetical Ability (35): laws of indices, ratio and proportion, surds, numbers and divisibility, LCM and GCD, rational numbers, percentages, profit and loss, partnership, pipes and cisterns, time, distance and work, areas, volumes and mensuration, modular arithmetic.
- Algebraical and Geometrical Ability (10): statements, truth tables and tautologies, sets, relations and functions, equation of a line, trigonometric ratios and identities, heights and distances, polynomials and the remainder theorem, linear equations, progressions, binomial theorem, matrices, limits and derivatives, plane geometry and distance between points.
- Statistical Ability (10): frequency distributions, mean, median, mode, standard deviation, correlation and simple probability.
What is the AP ICET 2027 exam pattern and marking?
Every question carries one mark and there is no negative marking, so the syllabus weight equals the question count. The test is computer based and lasts 150 minutes with no separate time limit per section.
- Medium: Section B in English only; Sections A and C in English and Telugu.
- Sessions: two papers on the same day, normalised before ranking.
- Qualifying marks: 25% (50 out of 200); no minimum for SC and ST.
