Which seats are filled through Jharkhand NEET PG counselling?
JCECEB fills the state quota seats of postgraduate medical courses (MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB) in Jharkhand. All India Quota seats of the same colleges are filled separately through MCC NEET PG counselling, so you can register for both.
Admission is by rank in the State Merit List, which JCECEB prepares only for candidates who submit its online form. The rank comes from your NEET PG score, with Jharkhand reservation rules and incentive marks for doctors who served in rural and remote areas (Sankalp No. 143(9), 6 April 2017).
How to apply for Jharkhand NEET PG Counselling 2026?
You fill the online State Merit List form on the JCECEB website, upload certificates and pay the fee, then register and fill choices in each round. The steps below follow the 2025 notice; the 2026 notice may change details.
Apply Online for Jharkhand NEET PG Counselling 2026
The Jharkhand NEET PG Counselling 2026 application window (21 to 25 October 2026) has closed.
- Open the JCECEB website and the PG medical online application tab once the 2026 State Merit List form opens.
- Fill the form and upload your certificates, including Local Resident, category and in-service certificates where they apply.
- Pay the application fee online by credit card, debit card or net banking.
- Check the provisional State Merit List. If your rank has an error, e-mail the Board with proof within the objection window.
- After the final State Merit List, register online, pay the counselling fee and security deposit, and fill and lock your choices.
- Download the provisional seat allotment letter and complete document verification and admission at the allotted institute by the given date.

JCECEB Advt. No. 103 (16 October 2026) confirms these fees for 2026. A security deposit is also payable: Rs 30,000 (UR/EWS) or Rs 15,000 (ST/SC/OBC/PwD) for government colleges, Rs 2 lakh for private medical colleges, and Rs 50,000 for stray/mop-up rounds.
Who can apply for Jharkhand NEET PG Counselling 2026?
You can apply if you qualified NEET PG 2026 and meet the state quota rules. These are the rules from the 2025 notice:
- You passed MBBS from a medical college in Jharkhand, or you are a Jharkhand resident who studied MBBS in a Bihar medical college as set out in the Health Department resolution of 21 November 2022.
- Local residents of Jharkhand who serve as state government doctors are eligible even with an MBBS from outside the state.
- You need a Local Resident certificate from the Circle Officer, SDO (Civil) or Deputy Commissioner of Jharkhand.
- You hold permanent or temporary registration with NMC or the Jharkhand State Medical Council. With temporary registration you must get permanent registration by the last date of admission.
- You completed, or will complete, the rotating internship by the notified date (31 July in 2025).
- Reservation follows Government of Jharkhand rules. BC-I and BC-II claims need a non-creamy layer certificate.
Which certificates should you update before the 2026 merit list form?
JCECEB’s advisory of 25 September 2026 asks candidates to update these documents before applying, to avoid rejection later:
- Local Resident, ST, SC, BC-I (NCL), BC-II (NCL) and Income & Assets (EWS) certificates issued by an officer not below SDO (Civil) of Jharkhand.
- PwD certificate issued by RIMS, Ranchi. Certificates from other places are not valid.
- In-service certificate issued by your Civil Surgeon, if you claim in-service benefit.
- Your category in the form must match your NEET PG 2026 form, or you are treated as Unreserved. Where the central and state caste lists differ, upload the original caste certificate.
- OBC candidates of NEET PG 2026 can choose BC-I or BC-II.
How do the Jharkhand NEET PG counselling rounds work?
JCECEB runs Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a stray vacancy round, each with its own merit list, choice filling and allotment letter. MCC guidelines for NEET PG counselling apply to every round.
- Each round has a provisional State Merit List, an objection window by e-mail, a final merit list, online registration and choice filling, then the allotment letter.
- Candidates already in an earlier round’s merit list do not need to apply again for Round 2 or Round 3.
- If you join a seat in Round 3 of the All India Quota, you cannot take part in further state rounds.
- The stray vacancy round is closed to candidates already admitted through JCECEB, allotted in state Round 3, admitted through AIQ Rounds 1 to 3, or allotted in the AIQ stray round.
- In 2025 the rounds ran from November 2025 and the stray vacancy round ended on 28 February 2026.
What is the security deposit for Jharkhand PG medical counselling?
You pay a security deposit at registration along with the counselling fee. These are the 2025 amounts:
