IIT Delhi disclosed date for the release of GATE 2020 result in the information brochure and under the ‘important dates’ section, on the official website gate.iitd.ac.in.

5 Important Things To Know About Result of GATE
Now that we know the exam date, let us have a look at 5 important things about GATE result.
#1. GATE scorecard is only released online, GATE online application processing system. Hence, enrollment number and password is needed to check it IIT-D will not send GATE scorecard via post or e-mail.
#2. The result of GATE is announced as scorecard. It contains:
- marks out of 100
- qualifying marks
- GATE score
- all India rank
- few other details
GATE Score – is the normalized score of the candidates. The rank of the candidates is determined on the basis of the GATE score.
#3. Validity of GATE result is 3 year. This is from the date of announcement of the result.
#4. GATE is conducted by IITs and IISc on rotational basis. However, the score of the exam is also accepted by NITs and CFTIs. Unlike the IIT admission, admission in NITs and CFTIs is done on the basis of a centralized counselling process, called as CCMT.
#5. Now more and more Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) are recruiting candidates on the basis of GATE score. While some PSUs recruit candidates on the basis of marks out of 100, other consider normalized score of GATE to grant admission.
About GATE 2020
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is the national level test conducted for taking admission in master’s / doctoral degree programmes in the disciplines Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science. IIT Delhi conducted GATE 2020 this year. The test is conducted for 25 papers in total. It consists of two different types of questions; multiple choice questions and numerical answer type questions.
