NIMCET 2027 is the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, a national computer-based exam for admission to the MCA programme at 11 NITs and 2 IIITs. How to Apply for NIMCET 2027
You apply for NIMCET 2027 online only, at nimcet.admissions.nic.in, once the coordinating NIT opens registration (expected in March 2027). In 2026 registration ran from 3 March to 5 May 2026, after a short extension. There is no offline form.
Apply Online for NIMCET 2027
Applications for NIMCET 2027 are expected in March 2027.
- Open nimcet.admissions.nic.in and click New Registration.
- Register with your own email ID and 10-digit mobile number. A link to set your password is sent to that email ID, so check the spam folder too.
- Log in with your email ID and password. Create only one account; multiple logins are treated as malpractice.
- Fill in your personal and academic details, including the marks or grade points of every subject in every year of your degree.
- Choose three test centre cities in order of preference.
- Upload a passport-size photo and your signature in blue or black ink (each 100 KB to 500 KB), mark sheets, an ID proof, your Class 10 certificate and any category or PwD certificate. Final-year students upload the head of institution certificate (Annexure V).
- Pay the fee online by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI, then submit and download the form with your application registration number.

The fee is not refundable. The NIMCET 2027 fee will be confirmed in the 2027 information brochure. After the last date, a short edit window is usually given to correct the form.
How to log in to the NIMCET 2027 candidate portal?
You log in to the NIMCET candidate portal with your email ID and password to fill and pay for the application form, download the submitted form and, closer to the exam, download your admit card.
- Open the official NIMCET website. The NIMCET 2027 login link appears there when registration opens, expected in March 2027; the 2026 login has closed.
- New candidates click New Registration and enter their email ID and 10-digit mobile number. A link to set your password is sent to that email ID.
- To sign in, enter your email ID as the login ID, and your password.
- Your account opens with your application form. After paying the fee you can download the form with your application registration number, and later your admit card.
Forgot your password or application number? The latest brochure (2026) does not describe a password reset process, so email the NIMCET helpdesk listed on the official website from your registered email ID if you cannot log in. Your application registration number is printed on the PDF of your submitted form.
Who can apply for NIMCET 2027?
You can apply for NIMCET if you are an Indian national with a qualifying bachelor’s degree and the minimum marks below. These are the 2026 rules; the 2027 brochure will confirm them.
- Degree: any UG programme of at least three years with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects, or a B.E. or B.Tech from a recognised university.
- Marks: at least 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. SC, ST and PwD candidates need 55% or 6.0 CGPA.
- Aggregate: worked out from all subjects in all years, including languages and optional subjects. Percentage and CGPA cannot be converted into each other.
- Final-year students: can apply, with a certificate from their college, and must prove eligibility at counselling or admission.
- Open university degrees: accepted if the programme is approved by UGC, AICTE and DEC and includes Mathematics or Statistics.
- Age: the brochure sets no age limit.
What is the NIMCET 2027 exam pattern?
NIMCET is a 2-hour computer-based test of 120 multiple choice questions for 1,000 marks, split into three timed parts that you cannot move between. Questions are in English only, and each wrong answer loses 25% of that question’s marks. Topic lists are on the NIMCET 2027 syllabus page.
