The PULEET syllabus 2027 has ten sections of ten questions each: six general engineering subjects (electrical, electronics, programming, mechanical, civil and chemical), plus Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Aptitude and Communication Skills. Panjab University prints it in the prospectus, and the 2027 prospectus is expected in April 2027.

What does the PULEET 2027 syllabus cover?
The PULEET syllabus covers diploma-level engineering plus basic science, Mathematics and aptitude. Every section carries 10 questions, so 60 of the 100 questions come from general engineering. This split is from the 2026 prospectus and is expected to stay for 2027.

All six engineering sections are compulsory, whatever your diploma branch, so plan time for the subjects outside your own branch.
What are the general engineering topics in the PULEET syllabus?
- Basic Electrical Engineering: DC circuits and network theorems, single-phase and three-phase AC, magnetic circuits, transformers, DC machines, induction motors and stepper motors.
- Basic Electronics: diodes and rectifiers, BJT, FET and MOSFET, op-amps, oscillators, number systems and logic gates, flip-flops, counters and registers, measuring instruments and transducers, AM, FM and PM.
- Programming Fundamentals: computer basics and memory, operating systems and Linux shells, C language (operators, control flow, arrays, pointers, functions, structures, file I/O) and an introduction to object oriented programming.
- Mechanical Engineering: laws of thermodynamics, steam and steam tables, Carnot, Rankine, Otto and Diesel cycles, fluid kinematics and dynamics, flow measurement, stress and strain, shear force and bending moment, bending and torsion.
- Civil Engineering: building materials and construction, hydraulics, concrete and RCC, steel structures, surveying, irrigation, transportation, soil mechanics, and estimation and costing.
- Chemical Engineering: units and dimensions, stoichiometry, material and energy balances, recycle, bypass and purge, gas laws, vapour pressure, Raoult’s and Henry’s laws, and humidity.
What are the Physics, Chemistry, Maths and aptitude topics?
- Physics: mechanics (kinematics, laws of motion, work and energy, rotation, SHM, waves and sound), optics (mirrors, lenses, interference, diffraction, polarisation, lasers), heat, electrostatics, current electricity and magnetism, and modern physics (photoelectric effect, crystals, atomic models, nuclear physics).
- Chemistry: atomic structure and the periodic table, fuels and combustion, water and hardness, environmental chemistry, and corrosion.
- Mathematics: quadratic equations and progressions, matrices and rank, trigonometry, coordinate geometry of lines and circles, differential calculus of one and two variables, differential equations, integral calculus, and vector calculus up to Green’s, Gauss’s and Stokes’s theorems.
- General Aptitude and Communication Skills: coding-decoding, directions and reasoning, plus grammar (word order, parts of speech, tenses, articles, active and passive voice, verbal analogies).
What is the PULEET 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme?
PULEET is one 100-question paper of 1 hour 40 minutes, answered on an OMR sheet. Each correct answer gets 1 mark and each wrong answer loses 1/4 mark; an unanswered question gets zero.

How should you prepare for PULEET 2027?
- Start with your diploma textbooks for the engineering sections, then cover the branches you did not study.
- Revise first-year engineering Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, since each gives 10 questions.
- Practise C programming and digital electronics even if they were not part of your branch.
- Do not ignore aptitude and grammar: 10 easy marks for little effort.
- Guess only when you can rule out two options, because each wrong answer costs 1/4 mark.
