JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan results are released separately, that is a few days after the B.E / B.Tech scorecard is released. Many times the B.Arch and B.Plan students worry about their result. However, note that usually the result is declared a few days after. The dates of JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan result are:

JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan Result Date
The dates vary for the result declaration of B.Arch / B.Planning paper and that of the B.E / B.Tech papers. Usually, the result of B.Tech / B.E paper is announced earlier and a few days later, the result for B.Arch and B.Plan paper is announced.
In the January attempt this year, the result for B.Arch and B.Plan papers was declared as follow:

Thus we can see there was almost a 6 days gap between the result declaration of the B.E / B.Tech paper and the B.Arch / B.Plan paper.
For this attempt, it has been said that JEE Main 2020 result can be declared by 11 Sep 2020. Going by that the B.Arch and B.Plan result might be out by 17 Sep 2020.

Since this year the exam has already been delayed due to COVID-19, the result of B.Arch and B.Plan might also be declared early with the B.E / B.Tech result.
Compilation of JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 and Paper 3 Result
JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan result is declared as a scorecard. In the scorecard, candidates can check their section-wise percentile score and the overall percentile score. The method pf compilation of results for both B.Arch and B.plan paper is the same, even if 2 separate papers are conducted for both the courses.
The compilation is done in following stages for both B.Arch and B.planning paper:
- Calculation of raw marks using the marking scheme of the exam
- Conversion of the raw marks into percentile score / NTA score for all sections separately and for the overall score.
- Allotting All India Rank (AIR) based on the NTA score of the candidates. In case 2 or more candidates get the same NTA score, tie-breaking methodology is applied.
Note: The NTA scores obtained by all the candidates who appeared in the first and second attempts both are merged for the compilation of results and preparation of overall AIR. Also, the best of the two NTA scores are considered for allotting ranks.
How is NTA Score Calculated for JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan Result
The preparation of NTA score from raw score is done using the formula below:

Why is percentile / NTA score calculated for the result: Since JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan is held over multiple shifts, the percentile score is calculated. This rules out any irregularity in difficulty level throughout the shifts. This, in turn, provides a fairer compilation of the result.
How is the raw score calculated: The raw score is calculated based on the marking scheme of the exam. The formula for calculation of raw score is thus:

JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan Tie-Breaking Method for AIR
Although the method of compilation of the result is the same for both B.Arch and B.Plan paper, the tie-braking process is a bit different for them. Check the same below:
Paper 2 – B.Arch:
- Candidates obtaining a higher NTA score in Mathematics is given higher AIR
- Candidates obtaining higher NTA scores in the Aptitude Test is considered next
- Next, candidates obtaining higher NTA scores in Drawing Test.
- Even then if the tie remains, then candidates older in age are given better AIR.
- In case a resolution is still not possible, candidates are given the same rank
Paper 3 – B.Arch:
- Candidates obtaining a higher NTA score in Mathematics is given higher AIR
- Candidates obtaining higher NTA scores in the Aptitude Test is considered next
- Next, candidates obtaining higher NTA scores in Planning Test.
- Even then if the tie remains, then candidates older in age are given better AIR.
- In case a resolution is still not possible, candidates are given the same rank
JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan AIR – The All India Rank for JEE Main 2020 paper 2 and 3 are prepared on the basis of JEE Main first and second exam. If the candidate appears for both the exams then the best percentile score is used for allocating rank to the candidates. Separate AIR allotted for B.Ach and B.Paper candidates.
Types of JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan AIR
Candidates are allotted AIR in 10 categories these are:
- Common rank list (CRL): That is overall AIR of the student irrespective of any category
- GEN-EWS: AIR in the EWS category
- OBC-NCL: AIR in OBC NCL category
- SC: AIR in the SC category
- ST: AIR in the ST category
- CRL – PWD: AIR of the PWD candidates who belong to the general category
- GEN-EWS-PWD: The AIR of the PWD candidates who belong in the general EWS category
- OBC-NCL-PWD: AIR of the PWD candidates who belong to the OBC-NCL category
- SC PWD: AIR of the PWD candidates who belong to the SC category
- ST-PWD: AIR of the PWD candidates who belong to the ST category

JEE Main 2020 B.Arch and B.Plan Counselling
Qualifiers of JEE Main 2020 are called for counselling. Counselling is conducted by JoSAA/CSAB. The counselling process of JEE Main starts after the merit list is published. The update for the same is released on the official website of JEE or JoSAA/CSAB after the result is announced. Counselling procedure ends only when the seats of the colleges are all booked. Students are called in different schedules for counselling. Only those who have matched the cut off are called. Only 2 IITs in India provide B.Arch and B.Plan admission. These are IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee. To take admission in these 2 IITs, students have to appear for JEE Advanced 2020 and then in Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). Note that, the admission in B.Arch courses is not as per AAT rank or score, it is based on JEE Advanced AIR. However, passing AAT is mandatory for being considered for B.Arch seat allotment.
