The admission in the AICTE Courses will be granted on the basis of Centralized Counseling. Candidates have to register themselves before the due date to get admission in Punjab Technical University. Check the schedule for the registration process from the below table

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for AICTE/UGC Courses for Academic Session 2020-21 for Main and Constituent Campuses of IKG Punjab Technical University is given below

Architecture | 5 Years/10 Semesters | No candidate, with less than 50% marks in aggregate, shall be admitted to the Architecture course unless he/ she has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject of examination at the 10+2 level. |
B. Tech. 1st Year | 4 Years/8 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by the central/state government through legislation with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:- 1. Chemistry 2. Biotechnology 3. Computer Science 4. Biology |
B. Tech. 2nd Year (Lateral Entry) | 3 Years/6 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply. |
M. Architecture | 2 Years/4 Semesters | The eligibility criteria for admission to M. Architecture course is regular B. Arch. or Equivalent with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category). |
M. Planning | 2 Years/4 Semesters | B. Arch/ B.E or B. Tech (Civil)/B. Planning/ M.A. or M.Sc. in Geography/ Sociology/ Economics with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). |
M. Tech. (Full Time) | 2 Years/4 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed B.E. / B. Tech. with at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) marks in aggregate and with valid GATE Score shall be eligible to apply for Postgraduate level M.Tech. Course. |
Bachelor of Sciences (Honours) in Physics Chemistry, Mathematics | 3years/6 Semesters | The prospective student must have 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50% marks or equivalent in aggregate with respective subject as one of the main subjects. A relaxation for the minimum marks will be as per Punjab government regulations. |
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) | 3years/6 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board /University / Council |
Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism and Mass Communication) | 3years/6 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board /University / Council. |
Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) | 3years/6 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board /University / Council. |
BHMCT (Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology) | 4 years/8 Semesters | Candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board. |
M. Sc. Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics | 2 years/4 Semesters | The prospective student must have graduation degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent in aggregate in preceding graduation degree with respective subject as one of the main subjects. Relaxation for the minimum marks will be as per Punjab government regulations. |
MBA | 2 years/4 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed bachelor’s degree of minimum three-year duration in any discipline from a University recognized by UGC/AICTE |
MCA | 3 years/ 6 Semesters | All those candidates who have passed any recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics/ Statistics /Business Mathematics / Business Statistics / Quantitative Techniques as Compulsory/ Optional/ Additional Paper as one of the subjects either at 10+2 or at graduation level. Or Have passed BCA course of minimum three years duration from any recognized University. |
M.A. (Journalism & Mass Communication) | 2 years/4 Semesters | Graduation degree in any stream with minimum 50% marks or equivalent. Relaxation for the minimum marks will be as per Punjab government regulations |
M.Phil. (Journalism & Mass Communication/ English/ Punjabi/ Political Science | 1 Year/ 2 Semesters | PG in Journalism & Mass Communication/ English/ Punjabi/ Political Science with 55% Marks or equivalent degree from a UGC recognized University. (50% for SC/ST candidates) |
