The news has been circulating in reputed journals that from 2018 onwards, Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, will hold a common written entrance test. However, there’s no official notification confirming it. Moreover, if that happens, both the autonomous media units will join hands together for the first time. Times of India reported that in a meeting held by FTII and SRFTI earlier in 2017, it was decided that “The written test will be common. The subsequent interview and orientation will take place at the respective institutes.” The candidates would have to apply using the link which would be available on the official websites of both the media units i.e at srfti.ac.in and ftiindia.com
As these changes may follow, it is also expected that the exam pattern, number of seats and application form submitting procedure are subjected to change. Candidates may have to clearly indicate in the application form their chosen course and the institute. In addition to this, the application fee charges may also increase. Till anything is confirmed we have gathered in this article all the information that is supposed to remain the same.
