Mumbai University Admission 2020 Merit List

The merit list for Mumbai University admission 2020 is uploaded on the website of the respective colleges. students have to keep an eye on the lists uploaded on the websites of the colleges they have applied for.

The merit list is drawn based on marks obtained in the qualifying exam. 3 merit lists are generally uploaded. The 2nd and 3rd merit list is prepared based on the number of vacant seats available in a particular college against a particular course.

In the merit list of Mumbai University, the following details are mentioned:

  • Category of the candidate.
  • Application ID.
  • Candidate ID.
  • Name.
  • Merit Priority Allocated.

The candidates have to submit the below-given documents at the respective colleges with the admission form:

  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Valid ID proof
  • Declaration / Undertaking form
  • Caste Certificate (If applicable)

Mumbai University Admission 2020 Eligibility

The candidates can check below the eligibility for admission in various courses at Mumbai University:

UG admission:

  • The candidates have to qualify 10+2 / HSC.
  • The minimum percentage requirement in 10+2 / HSC is dependent on the course applied for.
  • Subject combination in 10+2 / HSC is also dependent on the course applied for.

For admission in Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (B.Pharm. Sci.), a non zero MHT CET score is mandatory.

PG admission:

  • Candidates must have qualified UG degree from recognised board of education
  • The minimum percentage requirement in UG is dependent on the course applied for.
  • Subject combination in UG is also dependent on the course applied for.

For M.E / M.Tech admission candidates having GATE score shall be given preference.

Ph.d / M.Phil admission:

  • Candidates must have qualified PG degree from recognised board of education
  • The minimum percentage requirement in PG is dependent on the course applied for.
  • Subject combination in PG is also dependent on the course applied for.

Candidates having NET / SET / GATE / JRF can apply directly for admission.

Process of Mumbai University Admission 2020

Step 1: Fill and submit the online pre admission form.

Step 2: Next, visit the respective college website or campus o fill the admission form course wise and college wise.

Step 3: Carry the print of the pre-admission form and admission form with needed to documents to submit at the respective colleges.

Selection Criteria for Mumbai University Admission 2020

The selection criteria are depended on the fulfillment of eligibility of the course and the college applied for.

  • Admission is most of the courses is based on qualifying exam scores. Based on the scores of qualifying exam merit list is prepared.
  • However, in some of the courses written test is conducted after selection in the merit list which may or may not be followed by GD / PI.

Mumbai University also offers distance and open learning courses. The distance education and open learning programme admission is however is a different process all together and follows a complete different schedule.

The candidates can also switch from regular college to Mumbai University IDOL mode of education. In open and distance learning admission is offered in various UG, PG and diploma courses. The open learning programme in the University started in 1971. The University of Mumbai is the 7th university in the country to start distance and open learning.

About Mumbai University

Mumbai University is one of the first 3 universities of India. It was established in 1857.
