Mumbai University Admission 2018 have been started from the month of May 2018. Candidates who wish to apply for various University level courses can now fill application form soon. Admission to different university level courses are done either on the basis of the qualifying exam or the marks scored in the entrance exam. Only those students will be considered for MU Admission 2018 who will fulfill minimum eligibility criteria and score cut off marks in the entrance test. Mumbai University Admission 2018
Mumbai University Admission 2018 is done either through entrance exam or on the basis of qualifying exam. University of Mumbai has decided that admission in UG programmes like F.Y.B.A, F.YB.Sc, F.Y.B.Com, F.Y.B.M.M, F.Y.B.S.W, F.Y.B.A, F.Y.B.M.S., F.Y.B.M.S- F.Y.M.B.A, F.Y.B.Voc, F.Y.B.Library Science, Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) and PG programmes like M.Sc courses will be on the basis of qualifying exam and merit list. For other programs like BBA-LLB and Ph.D courses admission will be done on the basis of marks scored in the entrance test conducted separately for each programme.

Mumbai University Admission 2018 Application Form
For UG Courses
Candidates who wish to apply for Undergraduate Programs like F.Y.B.A, F.YB.Sc, F.Y.B.Com, F.Y.B.M.M, F.Y.B.S.W, F.Y.B.A, F.Y.B.M.S., F.Y.B.M.S- F.Y.M.B.A, F.Y.B.Voc, F.Y.B.Library Science are required to submit the online Pre-admission form once it gets released. Thereafter they have to submit application form along with printed copy of pre-admission form through offline method.
For BBA-LLB Courses
Candidates will be able to download MUCLET application form 2018 from the official site once it is released. The application form will be released in the form of PDF and applicant is required to download the form and fill it with proper details. After filling the form, the applicant must submit the hard copy along with fees and other relevant documents in the official announcement notice.
Candidate must ensure that he/she must submit the filled application form on or before last day.
However, the special facility will be provided to the candidates from out-station to send soft copy of scanned application form accompanied by fees on the email id mentioned in the official notification.
Applicants who wish to apply for MUCLET 2018 will be required to pay INR 2000 which is fixed for General category. Whereas candidates who wish to apply under reserved category need to pay only INR 1000. However, we cannot assure candidates about the exact amount of fees. The above said amount is based on previous year information. Candidates will get to know about the exact amount of fees once the University of Mumbai release Official Brochure for the year 2018-19.
For M.Sc Courses
Applicants who wish to get admission in M.Sc courses have to fill in the application form once it will be available on the official website. The admission will be made by Post Graduate Department of the University. Candidates must fill the application form properly and submit it to be considered for the merit list preparation. The application form will be made available online and students must fill it online only. They can then take a print out of filled form which will have 4 sections and get it verified along with other relevant documents like B.Sc mark sheets, etc. by the Post Graduate section of the University of Mumbai.
For Ph.D courses
All the eligible candidates who want to apply for the exam must fill in the application form for PET 2018. Applicants will be required to fill the online application form once it is available.
For Distance Learing (IDOL)
Candidates applying for distance learning in Mumbai University must visit the official page and fill the application form online. Applicants seeking IDOL Mumbai University Admission 2018 can pay application fee through credit/ debit card or by taking a Print out of Bank Challan.
Candidate must ensure that he/she fills application form properly. He/she must have scanned copy of the signature, his/ her photograph, mark sheet of last qualifying exam and other important documents as required. The applicant applying for PGDORM should present a two years work experience certificate. In-case, the applicant is transferring his/her admission from any other affiliated college to IDOL, he/ she must scan and upload original NOC and Xerox copy of it issued by the concerned college.
Eligibility Criteria for Mumbai University Admission 2018
Admission to Mumbai University will be done only after applicant fulfills the basic eligibility criteria. However, eligibility criteria set forth by the University for 2018 admission vary as per the course. Below we have provided course wise eligibility that candidate needs to fulfill.
For F.Y.B.A, F.YB.Sc, F.Y.B.Com, F.Y.B.M.M, F.Y.B.S.W, F.Y.B.A, F.Y.B.M.S., F.Y.B.M.S- F.Y.M.B.A, F.Y.B.Voc, F.Y.B.Library Science Courses (UG Courses)
Applicants who wish to apply for F.Y.B.A, F.YB.Sc, F.Y.B.Com, F.Y.B.M.M, F.Y.B.S.W, F.Y.B.A, F.Y.B.M.S., F.Y.B.M.S- F.Y.M.B.A, F.Y.B.Voc, F.Y.B.Library Science courses will only be considered eligible one they meet the following criteria:
(i) Candidate must have passed the last qualifying examination, i.e., Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (HSSCE) from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
(ii) For candidates seeking admission in integrated BA, B,Sc and B.Com must have scored atleast 45% marks in HSSCE from relevant subjects.
(iii) Applicants applying for Bachelors of Mass Media can fill the application form. After which merit list will be released based on the qualifying examination. Final admission will be done thereafter.
All the applicants who wish to get admitted in BBA-LLB 5 years integrated course in Mumbai University have to appear for MUCLET 2018 examination. Here, out of 120 seats 85% seats will be filled by candidates with domicile of Maharashtra.
The basic eligibility criteria for MUCLET 2018 and then admission in BBA-LLB programme is as follows:
(i) Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 45% marks. Candidates under the category of SC and ST require minimum 40% marks.
(ii) Applicant must score minimum cut off marks in MUCLET 2018 to be considered for Mumbai University Admission 2018.
For M.Sc Courses
Admission in Mumbai University for M.Sc courses Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology and Biochemistry will be done on the basis of Merit List. However, University has 2 different set of eligibility criteria for Mumbai University Admission 2018. Preference will be given in merit list as per the list given below:
(a.) For Mumbai University Students:
(i) Applicant must have declared pass in First class without any grace marks and having only 1 major subject.
(ii) In case 2 or more applicants marks are equal CGPA will be taken into consideration.
(iii) Applicant who have passed in First class with grace marks or passed with Second class will only 1 major subject.
(iv) Students having 2 major subjects and one of them being Chemistry in T.Y.B.Sc, then only marks of Chemistry will be considered for position in merit list.
Only one merit list will be made for every single subject. Mumbai University Admission 2018 will be done on the basis of that merit list. Students who want to see the merit list will be able to download it from official website. A copy of merit list will also be displayed on the notice board of University.
(b) For Other University Students:
Merit list of all the students from University other than Mumbai University will be released for the seats remaining. Applicant will be required to submit the Xerox copy of B.Sc mark sheets for all 3 years.
For Ph.D courses
Candidates who wish to take Mumbai University Admission 2018 for Ph.D programme must appear for Ph.D Entrance Test (PET) 2018. Only those candidates will be admitted who will score minimum cut off marks required.
However, candidates who fulfill any one of the following criteria will be exempted from PET 2018:
(i) Candidates who has qualified GATE/ NET/ SET/ JRF Examination
(ii0 Candidates, who are teacher fellowship holder of CSIR/ ICMR/ UGC/ DBT/ ICAR only.
(iii) Candidates has completed M.Phil degree for Mumbai University or other recognized University present in India.
Above mentioned candidate who wish to apply for Ph.D programme must submit the completed application form directly to Research Centre within 15 days from the date of release of notification.
Mumbai University Admission 2018 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
For admission in various programmes in University of Mumbai entrance test is being conducted. Admission is granted on the basis of marks scored by candidate in the exam.
MUCLET: For Admission in BBA-LLB
MUCLET 2018 will be conducted in offline mode only. Candidates appearing for the exam will be required to attempt 100 questions in a time duration of 120 minutes or 2 hours. Questions in exam consists of English Grammar and Vocabulary, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Basic Mathematics, Legal Reasoning and Aptitude.
Candidate, who will take this exam must attempt the questions and score minimum cut off to be considered for merit list.
PET: For Admission in Ph.D
PET 2018 will be of 100 marks and time duration provided to complete the paper will be 3 hours or 180 minutes. Candidates will be asked questions from topics based on compulsory/ core paper in respective subjects from PG Degree level.
The question paper will be divided into 3 sections.
In-order to be considered for merit list, candidate must secure minimum 50 marks in PET 2019.
Mumbai University Admission 2018 Merit List and Admission
Merit list will be prepared on the basis of qualifying exam or the marks scores in the exam of respective programmes.
For admission in UG courses and M.Sc courses merit list will be prepared on the basis of last qualifying exam. Candidate who will fill the application form before the last date is considered for the merit list and admission to only those candidates is given whose name appears in it.
Candidates who wish to appear for MUCLET and PET will be required to score minimum cut off to be eligible for admission in Mumbai University. Only those candidates will be added in the merit list who score minimum cut off marks and also fulfills eligibility criteria as laid down by University.
Candidates whose name will appear in the merit list must take admission on the allotted seats on or before last date of admission as stated. Failing to get admission before the last date will lead to cancellation of seat. The vacant seat will then be allotted to the candidate next in the merit list.
