MIT WPU Admission 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for different departments are different. To take admission in MIT WPU, earlier MIT Pune, candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria first. We are listing below the basic eligibility criteria for each of the 10 departments in this section for the easy understanding of the candidates:

Eligibility Criteria for admission in the Department Of Engineering And Technology:

For UG Courses:

  1. Qualification: 10+2
  2. Percentage needed: 50% (45% for Reserved Category)
  3. The subjects combination needed: Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry

Mode of Admission: Merit-Based, MHT-CET and/or JEE Main followed by counselling rounds

For PG Courses:

  1. Candidate should be Indian national.
  2. Passed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of Engineering and technology course awarded by the University recognised by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities.
  3. Scored at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent.
  4. Qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by Indian Institute of Technolgy. or For the sponsored candidate, minimum two years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/company/industry/educational and/or research institute/any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organisation in the relevant field in which admission is sought.

For BBA:

  • 10+2 from any stream with English as one of the subjects.
  • A minimum 50% marks (45% for Reservation category).

MIT World Peace University was previously known as just MIT Pune. The history of MIT WPU looks somewhat like this:

1981: The establishment of the University in the initial stages came from a newspaper article. YES! – Dr. Vishwanath Karad- an engineering Professor at Government College of Engineering (C.O.E.P-Pune) read this newspaper article about “dearth of Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra- India, leading to the failure for bright students in getting admissions to Engineering colleges”. This drove him to change this adverse situation into an opportunity of learning for young aspirants.

August 05, 1983: Maharashtra Institute of Technology-MIT was established.

1987 – 2015: MIT has been seen opening various departments and campuses across the nation. The growth has been rapid, with each year there being something new to achieve.

2017: MIT Pune transforms to MIT World peace University (MIT WPU) with an aim to make India the ‘Vishwa Guru’ which means the ‘Teacher of the World’!

MIT WPU Admission 2019 Fee Structure

B.Tech Courses Fee structure:

  • Indian students – Rs. 2.85 lakh per year
  • Foreign students – $ 5500 per year.
  • Hostel fees – Rs. 90,000/- per year (Hostel + Mess inclusive)

Scholarships available:

  1. Students securing more than 170 in MHT CET and 200 marks in JEE Main will be eligible for 50% concession in tuition fee.
  2. Students securing marks between 151 and 170 in MHT CET and between 175 &200 marks in JEE Main will be eligible for 40% concession in tuition fee.
  3. Students securing marks between 126 to 150 in MHTCET and between 151 & 175 in JEE Main will be eligible for 25% concession in tuition fee.
