IIPS – The The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) was declared as a ‘Deemed University’ on August 19, 1985. The institute serves as a regional Institute for Training and Research in Population Studies. The institute is going to conduct an online examination for various M.A, M.Sc., M.Phil courses for which the exam will be conducted on 07 June 2017. The Applications have already started. The applications for 2017 IIPS can be filled online from the official website from 03 April 2017 to 01 May 2017. The candidates can apply at the website iipsindia.org.

The applications must be filled online only. There is no provision of obtaining the form from the institute through post or personally. The application will be registered first and then the student will receive a login id and password. After the registration of the IIPS admission the candidates will be able to complete the application form. Check the details below.

50 seats 2 year Graduation with 55% from a recognized university or equivalent grades. The candidates must have studied Mathematics or Statistics as core subjects. 25 years
Master of Population Studies

 

50 seats 1 year A Master’s degree with at least 55% of aggregate marks from a recognized university or equivalent grade in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Geography and Anthropology. 28 years

 

 

Master of Philosophy in Population Studies

 

50* seats 1 year Master in Population Studies/ M.A/M.Sc. in Demography/ M.Sc. in Bio-statistics and Epidemiology from a recognized university with at least 55% of aggregate marks or equivalent. 30 years

 

Master of Population Studies (Distance Learning)

 

150 Seats 1 year A Post Graduate degree in any social science subject/Health/Maths/ Stats or allied subjects from recognized Indian/Foreign universities with at least 55 aggregate marks.

Note (*) – 5 seats will be reserved for M.Sc. in Bio-Statistics and Epidemiology/Demography.

How to apply for IIPS

  • The candidates will be required to visit the official website to fill the application form for 2017 IIPS at iipsindia.org or they can click the link provided here for registration

  • When you the click the link, a window will open where you will see the box where the registration ID and the password is to be inserted.
  • Just below the box the candidates who have visited the site for the first time will see a link for “NEW USER”.
  • Click on the link New user and the applicants will now be required to enter the details such as Email ID, Mobile number, Security question, secret Answer, Password, Confirm password.
  • Registration confirmation- A page confirming the registration will appear with your application number. Please login again to complete the application form.

The application process will be completed in seven steps

STEP I Personal Details – the candidates will be required to enter the details such as name, father name etc.

STEP II Academic Details – The applicants should check where all the details are to be entered.

STEP III Upload Photo – Candidates must upload Passport Size Photograph (3.5 cm width x 4.5 cm height) without sunglasses in jpg/jpeg format only (The image must be greater than 4 kb and less than 40 kb in size).

Step IV Upload Signature – Candidates must upload their scanned copy of signature with 3.5 cm length x 1.5 cm height (The image must be greater than 1 kb and less than 30 kb in size).

Step V Document Upload – Candidates must also upload a Photo ID proof (Any one : Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN card), or any government issued photo ID proof.

Step VI Work Experience – if the candidate posses any relevant experience then they must mention it in the space required.

STEP VII Test Centre Preference – here the candidate will be required to provide the choice where they want to appear for the exam. The institute reserves the right to allot anyone the centre in case there are no seats available at any centre.

STEP VIII Fee Payment – the candidates should check the details of the amount that they have to pay towards the completion of the application fees.

  • General – Rs. 1000
  • OBC – Rs. 500
  • SC/ST/PWD – Rs. 250

Selection criteria for IIPS

For Master of Philosophy in Population Studies- the selection will depend on the basis of an online test for this course and afterwards there will be a personal interview. The candidates who are shortlisted in the online written test will proceed to the next level i.e interview. The Institute will not pay any amount of money or bear any travel expense of the candidates called for the test/personal interview.

  • Interview: To be Announced later
