TSVU Admission 2019-20 for MVSc and Ph.D
Candidates seeking admission in MVSc and Ph.D Courses will have to download and fill their Application form. Admission of candidates will be based on Entrance Test which was conducted by TSVU as per scheduled date. The counselling schedule is as given below-
The result of the Ph.D. & MVSc Entrance Examination has been released and the list of eligible candidates for the interview and counselling for Ph.D. & MVSc respectively has been released. Eligible Candidates for Test
The final list of eligible candidates to write the entrance test for MVSc & Ph.D. has been released. The examination is scheduled for December , 2019, candidates are advised to check the list from the given link below for both the courses. It is recommended to download their admit card which will be available from December, 2019.
Application Form 2019
The applications shall be downloaded from http://tsvu.nic.in. The downloaded and duly filled in application along with attested copies of required certificates and proof of application fee payment shall reach the Registrar, PVNR TVU, Administrative Office, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad 500030 on or before last date by 4.00 p.m. either in person or by Post. Application received after this due date will summarily be rejected. The University will not be held responsible for any postal delay.

Application Fee (As per last year details)
- For SC/ST/PH – Rs. 650/-
- For all others – Rs. 1300/-
For M.V.Sc Course
Candidates seeking admission into any of the Master’s Degree courses must have passed the relevant Bachelor’s Degree examination specified against each course from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University /Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University/ SPVNR TSU VAFS or any institution accredited by ICAR/VCI.
In the qualifying examination, the candidates from SC/ST/PH categories must have secured a minimum OGPA of 5.00/10.00 OR 2.00/ 4.00 where as the candidates from all other categories must have secured a minimum OGPA of 6.00/10.00 OR 2.50/ 4.00.
Age Limit: The upper age limit is 40 years as on 01-07-2018 including for the candidates holding ICAR Junior Fellowship.
For Ph.D Course
Master of Veterinary Science or an equivalent examination in Veterinary Science from PVNR TVU/SVVU/ APAU/ ANGRAU or from an institution accredited by ICAR in the concerned field of specialization with at least 70% marks in aggregate under traditional system of examination or an OGPA of 2.7 or above in 4.00 point scale or OGPA of 6.50 or above in 10.00 point scale in grade point system. In the case of SC, ST and PH candidates, minimum of 60% aggregate marks under traditional system in Master of Veterinary Science or OGPA of 2.5 out of 4.00 or 6.00 out of 10.00 under 10 point scale is essential. The basic undergraduate degree in B. V. Sc. /B. V. Sc & A. H. is essential. The candidates awaiting final thesis viva-voce result may also apply. But they have to produce provisional certificate on or before the date of entrance examination failing which they shall not be allowed for entrance examination.
For admission into Ph. D. in following specializations in Veterinary Science, candidates who possess M. V. Sc. in Major fields specified against each of the subjects mentioned are also eligible
Age: The upper age limit is 50 years as on 01-07-2019 including ICAR senior Research fellowship holders.
The list of eligible candidates for entrance examination will be displayed on University Website.The Hall Tickets can be obtained from Examinations Section, Administrative Office, PVNRTVU during working hours on 15, December 2018. The applicants will get admit card by the offline mode. You will have to accumulate admit card from the administrative office.
For M.V.Sc Course
The selection of the candidates for admission to M. V. Sc. shall be based on 60% weightage for MVSc entrance examination, 35% weightage for BVSc& AH degree OGPA and maximum of 5 % weightage for Co- Curricular activities at UG level.
Allotment of marks for Co- Curricular activities:
- NCC- Participation in Republic day Camp-3 marks
- NCC- C certificate-2 marks
- NSS, literary and Sports& Games National level Prizes/ medals-3 marks
- NSS, literary and Sports& Games Inter University prizes/ medals-2 marksIn case of NCC candidates
The entrance test shall be a comprehensive one, covering all relevant subjects prescribed for the concerned Bachelor degree requirements of this University as per VCI MSVE-2008 Regulations. The Entrance Examination paper contains only 200 multiple choice questions. The candidates have to mark answers by choosing the correct answer in the question booklet itself. The candidates getting 40% or more marks in entrance test only are eligible for admission.
However, in case of SC/ST/PH candidates, there are no minimum qualifying marks and candidates are admitted to the extent of seats reserved for them. SC/ST/PH candidates claiming seats under general category have to obtain at least 40% marks in the entrance test.
Note: The marks obtained in entrance test shall be considered for tie breaking. For further tie breaking date of birth shall be considered and older candidate shall be preferred.
For Ph.D Course
The weightage of marks will be as follows:
- Entrance Test: 50
- M. V. Sc: 20
- B. V. Sc: 10
- Interview performance: 20
The entrance test shall consist of 100 multiple choice questions covering Post graduate courses listed in respective discipline with 600 series. The qualifying marks in the entrance test shall be 50 %. In case of SC/ST/PH candidates, there are no qualifying marks to the extent of seats reserved for them.
Selection of candidates for admission to Ph. D. courses shall be made by a Selection Committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor. The candidates who are eligible for admission to the course should appear for entrance test and interview before selection committee at PVNRTVU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad at their own expenses.
