How to Calculate Score Using GATE 2020 EE Answer Key by The GATE Academy
To calculate the score, candidates must know the marking scheme of EE. So, candidates can predict their estimated GATE score by following the mentioned below steps:
1st step – First, according to the answer key candidates have to cross-check the correct and incorrect answers as they have marked in the exam.
2nd step – Now, as per the marking scheme, allot the marks to every correct and deduct marks for every incorrect answer.
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) –
- For every correct answer, add 1 mark or 2 marks, as per the marking scheme of the question.
- For every wrong answer, deduct -1/3 for MCQ carrying 1 mark and -2/3 for MCQ carrying 2 marks.
Numerical Answer Type (NAT) –
- For every correct answer, add 1 mark for NAT carrying 1 mark and 2 marks for NAT carrying 2 mark
- For every wrong answer, there is NO negative marking.
3rd step – Now add the marks to calculate the score of MCQ section and NAT section separately as shown below:
Score of MCQ – +1x (total no. of correct answer carrying 1 mark) – 1/3 x (total no. of incorrect answer carrying 1 mark) + 2 x (total no. of correct answer carrying 2 marks) – 2/3 (total no. of incorrect answer carrying 2 marks)
Score of NAT – +1x (total no. of correct answer carrying 1 mark) + 2 x (total no. of correct answer carrying 2 marks)
4th step – After that, add the total score of MCQ section and NAT section to get the GATE raw score.
GATE Raw score – Score of MCQ + Score of NAT
