Application Form

A candidate can obtain admission form from the Centre for Distance Education (CDE), AMU, or from any one of the designated Study Centre(s), or from the CDE Website www.cdeamu.ac.in and www.amuict.in. The link to download the application form has also provided below.

Application Fee

The download Application Form must be attached with a Demand Draft of Rs. 300 in favour of Finance Officer, AMU, payable at Aligarh along with other required documents for admission. The application form can also be obtained from the Cash Counter at CDE, AMU on payment of Rs. 300/- or by sending a Bank Demand Draft of Rs. 350/- in favour of Finance Officer, AMU, payable at Aligarh along with a self-addressed A4 size envelope affixing postal stamp of Rs.60/-. Admission fee is non-refundable.

Submission of Application Forms

Candidates must submit their duly filled application form to the Centre from where it was obtained. The downloaded forms need to be submitted at the Centre where you are interested to get your admission.

Rejection of Application Form

The application form may be rejected due to any of the following reasons:

  • If the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria.
  • If the qualifying examination is not recognized by Aligarh Muslim University.
  • If the application form is not signed by the candidate.
  • If the clearance from the AMU Proctor is not given.
  • If the application form is incomplete.
  • If the information provided by the candidate is incomplete or incorrect.

Note: The information, provided in application form, must be supported by the documents.

Important Instruction

  • Applicants must go through the prospectus carefully and fill the required information correctly.
  • Candidates who have appeared in a qualifying examination can also apply for provisional admission. However, final admission will be given on clearance of the qualifying examination.
  • The Centre shall not be responsible for any postal delay.
  • Candidates will be responsible for any incorrect information.
  • The application form is not transferable.
  • Candidates must submit attested photocopies of relevant documents along with the application form. They should not enclose any original document

Documents to be submitted with the Application Forms

Applications to various Courses are required to submit photocopies of self-attested marksheets / grade sheets all examinations passed by the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria

Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) Part–I (Class XI) Arts / Social Science Secondary School Certificate / High School examination of the Aligarh Muslim University or an examination recognized by the Aligarh Muslim University as its equivalent.
Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) Part –I (Class XI) Commerce Secondary School Certificate / High School Examination of the Aligarh Muslim University or an equivalent examination recognized by AMU.
B.A. (Hons.) Arts & Social Science Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) 10+2, in any stream of this University or an examination recognized by the University as its equivalent. However, there is no age bar for admission to B.A (Hons.) programme.
B. Com. (Hons.) Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC, 10+2), in any stream, from AMU or equivalent recognized by AMU.
M.A. Any candidate who has passed B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. or an equivalent degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of Aligarh Muslim University, or any other University or Institute in any state recognized by UGC or AICTE is eligible for admission.
M.Com (Hons.) Any candidate who has passed B.Com or an equivalent degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of Aligarh Muslim University, or any other University or Institute in any state recognized by UGC or AICTE is eligible for admission.
Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication (PGD-JMC) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any institution recognized by AMU
Post Graduate Diploma in Portfolio Management (PGD-PM) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any institution recognized by AMU.
Post Graduate Diploma in Language for Advertisement, Marketing &Media (PGD-
LAMM)
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any institution recognized by AMU
Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance & Counseling (PGD-G&C)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any institution recognized by AMU.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having a background of Psychology, Educational psychology, Education, M.Ed., Social Work, Child Development, Human Development.
  • Candidate having MBBS / BDS / B. Tech. will also be considered for admission.
Bachelor of Library & Information Science (BLIS)
  • BA / B.Sc. / B. Com Examination of this university or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks from any institution recognized by AMU. OR
  • BA / B.Sc. / B. Com Examination having 45% marks with library experiences of 5 years in a recognized library OR
  • BA / B.Sc. / B. Com Examination having 45% marks with Master’s degree in Second Division from this University or from any other recognized University / Institution.
Diploma in Communicative skills in
English (DCSE)
Certificate in Communicative English / B.A. Part-I from AMU or from any Institution recognized by AMU.
Certificate in Communicative Skills in English (CCSE) SSSC (+2) or its equivalent degree recognized by AMU

Selection for Admission

  • The list of selected candidates for admission will be displayed at the Office of the CDE, A.M.U., and its Study Centres.
  • Admission is open to all those who possess prescribed minimum qualification.
  • Admissions are provisional, subject to verification of required documents & eligibility conditions.
