Central University of Gujarat Admission 2019 – The Central University of Gujarat (CUG) will commence admissions to various courses and programmes for the academic year 2019-20. This year too the complete admission process is online starting from filling up of the application forms, printing admit card/hall ticket, computer-based exams, announcement of results and submission of enrollment form and final registrations. Eligibility Criteria & Seat Intake

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor (UG AND Integrated UG-PG) Degree Programmes

For admissions to B.A. (Hons.) and integrated UG-PG programmes, candidates will be selected for admission in accordance with the merit list prepared on the basis of CUCET 2019. No student shall be eligible for admission to a Bachelor’s degree programme unless he/she has successfully completed 10+2 in the relevant subject and secured marks as specified for the programme, through the examinations conducted by a recognized board/autonomous/private institution

Eligibility Criteria for Master’s Degree Programme:

For admissions to Masters Programmes, candidates will be selected for admission in accordance with the merit list prepared on the basis of CUCET 2019. No student shall be eligible for admission to a Master’s degree programme unless s/he has successfully completed three years of an undergraduate degree in the relevant subject and secured marks as specified for the programme or earned prescribed number of credits for an undergraduate degree through the examinations conducted by a university/autonomous institution or possesses such qualifications as recognized by the concerned university as equivalent to an undergraduate degree

Eligibility Criteria for M.PHIL. and Integrated M.Phil – Ph.D Programme

  • Candidates for admission to the M. Phil. and M. Phil.- Ph.D. Integrated programmes shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is Page 2 of 3 followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
  • As per UGC regulation 2016, a relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
  • The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examinations may also apply. However, they would need to produce relevant documents at the time of admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D Programme

Applying for more than one academic programme: Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes in the same application form provided they are eligible. Candidates, however, should check the Entrance Test Schedule and ensure that there is no clash in times in the programmes optained for.

Admission Procedure

After the declaration of the CUCET 2019 results, CUG will conduct counselling of the candidates who have applied to various UG/PG and Research programmes of the University. In this regard, the Central University of Gujarat (CUG) will notify counselling dates after the results declaration. The counselling will be conducted in the online mode where students who have opted CUG as the choice of university will be required to register themselves on the university’s online portal. After the last date of such registration the merit list of UG/PG programmes and list of selected candidates for interview for a research programme in the different schools/centres will be declared. The selected candidates can then secure their admission to the UG and PG programme of their choice according to the merit list. If any student fails to secure the admission before the last date, his/her seat may be offered to the next candidate from the waiting list.

General Instructions

  1. A candidate shall be admitted to a programme as per the Admission guidelines of the University available on the University website (www.cug.ac.in) and CUCET portal (https://www.cucetexam.in). All eligible candidates must report themselves for the entrance test to the respective test centre(s) on their own and according to the schedule.
  2. Admission to various programmes in Central University of Gujarat shall be subject to applicants fulfilling all the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the admission guidelines of the CUCET-2019.
  3. A candidate appearing for the CUCET -2019 must have appeared in the final examination of the qualifying degree and declared passed with minimum required percentage as per the eligibility criteria mentioned
  4. The CUG will notify counselling dates after the declaration of CUCET 2019 results.
  5. The selected candidates of UG/PG can then secure their admission to the programme of their choice according to the merit list.
  6. Last date of submission of any of the pending documents/certificates is 30th September 2019 failing which the admission of the student shall be liable to be cancelled.
  7. The selected candidates shall be required to pay requisite fee of the programme in which s/he has been offered admission.
