West Bengal State University (WBSU) UG Admission 2020 will be based on the basis of merit on the basis of percentage of marks.
West Bengal State University (WBSU) PG Admission 2020 will be made merit on the basis of percentage of marks for 60% of seats for WBSU students and rest 40% of seats on the basis of subjectwise Entrance Test for Other University students and home university students including back years (Passed in 2015, 2016) students.

West Bengal State University (WBSU) Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses
Education Qualification – A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the First Semester of the Six Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons and Genl) or B. A. Music. (Hons. and Genl.) The course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.
Admission Qualification – A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained:
i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. In case of B. Mus. (Hons.) 45% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject Music in the pre-qualifying examination.
OR
ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
OR
iii) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all the other clauses are satisfied. However, if in any Honours subject, the number of applications are so low that even the permitted intake of the college cannot be filled up, then the Principal may use his discretionary power to reduce the minimum requirement for admission in that subject. A written note in that respect should reach the Registrar for consideration of that decision for final
approval by the University and the decision will be communicated to the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal for information.
OR
iv) However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community taking up Honours Course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying
examination, as the case may be.

West Bengal State University (WBSU) PG Admission
The duration of the Post-Graduate programmes in different courses are two years consisting of four semesters. The objective of the course is to provide the students a sound base (both theoretical and practical) on the concerned discipline and to equip the students by enhancing their analytical and comprehensive abilities for meeting the challenges in life in future. Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses
Eligibility Criteria provided below is last year based and for reference purpose only.
Eligibility for Admission to M.A, M.Com, M.Sc Courses
- Three years Honours graduate of the current and previous 2 years i.e. not before 2016 in the system (10+2+3) from WBSU.
- Honours graduates from recognized Universities in West Bengal of the current and previous two years are eligible for admission. For students from other states, the student should have passed equivalent course as at (1) from UGC recognized University/Institute.
- Candidates passing Honours/Major course in Arts in Under Graduate Degree level from Indira Gandhi National Open University/Netaji Subhas Open University and the Distance Education Programmes of other Universities in West Bengal are also eligible for admission.
- Each candidate should apply in a separate single application form for applying more than one subject, if any.
