IIM Ranchi Selection Criteria for PGDM Admission 2018 through CAT
Admission to IIM Ranchi will be based on the performance of candidates in the CAT, Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI) and also based on their profile. The WAT and PI process will be common for the following IIMs, namely IIM Amritsar, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur. The cut-off CAT percentiles, weightage for different components and the profile scoring method are given below.
Initial Shortlisting for WAT / PI Process
An initial shortlist shall be prepared of candidates who would be eligible for WAT and PI process for admission to the PGDM 2018-20 Batch of IIM Ranchi. This list would be purely based on CAT performance and is expected to be announced around mid-January 2018.
The CAT cut-off percentile scores for consideration for admission to IIM Ranchi is mentioned in Table 1.
It must be noted that every eligible candidate as per Table 1, may or may not find a place in the shortlist. The above cut-off percentile figures are just indicative and actual CAT percentile cut-offs are expected to be close to the cut-off for previous years. The shortlisted candidates of all the ten IIMs will be merged to make a combined shortlist for further processing.
The criteria given in Table 1 will be used to rank the candidates in different categories (namely General, NC-OBC, SC, ST and DAP) and for shortlisting of candidates based on ranking within categories for further processing.
PI & WAT Process
WAT and PI process would be conducted at five different centres, namely Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The exact dates for the same would be communicated to shortlisted candidates in due course.
The coordinator for CAP 2018 would be IIM Rohtak.
Final Admissions 2018-20
After the completion of the WAT and PI process, admission offers would be made on the basis of a merit list. This Consolidated Merit List (CML) would be prepared on the basis of following components and their corresponding weights:
The details of the above mentioned components are mentioned as below:
(a) CAT Percentile – 30% weightage is assigned to the CAT score of only those candidates who are eligible for WAT and PI.
(b) Profile – The profile scoring methodology for IIM Ranchi is given in Table 3 below.
Academic Profile (15 Marks)
Evaluation based on academic background in school and high school / junior college.
Work Experience (5 Marks)
Academic Diversity (5 marks)
Gender Diversity (5 marks)
5 marks will be awarded to female candidates only.
