NIFTEM Admission 2020 Counselling
Candidates must report online on the day of counselling. Failing to do so may result in cancellation of the seat. For B.Tech Programme –
Candidates are advised to refer to JEE (Main)-2020 website. The eligibility conditions of JEE (Main) -2020 will be applicable.
For M.Tech Programme –
Four Year’s Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s degree in relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. Additional programme wise requirement are as below:

For MBA Programmes:
The eligibility criterion for admission to MBA Program is Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in relevant discipline, with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% in the case of SC/ST), or equivalent CGPA.

Selection Process for NIFTEM B.Tech Programme
Admission will be done through JEE (Main) – 2020. Eligible candidates will fill the application form of JEE (Main) – 2020. Subsequently, counselling will be done by JoSAA/CSAB-2020. All candidates are advised to refer to the website of JEE (Main) – 2020 (jeemain.nic.in) and CSAB -2020/JoSAA-2020 website for further details.

Selection Process for NIFTEM M.Tech Programme
Admission to M. Tech programme will be based on valid GATE score. Merit list shall be prepared based on valid GATE score only, it will be displayed on the NIFTEM site. In case two candidates will have the same GATE score then the UG Degree marks will be considered for the merit list. After the admission of eligible GATE qualified candidates, the remaining seats, if any, will be filled by Non- GATE candidates. Non- GATE candidates would require to qualify the common entrance test to be conducted by NIFTEM at NIFTEM Campus Kundli or Online due to COVID-19 pandemic and the national lockdown. There will be no other exam centre than NIFTEM Kundli in case of offline mode. The Non-GATE applicants’ common entrance exam shall not be conducted if all seats have been filled by GATE candidates. In that case, the claim for refund of the application fee shall not be entertained.
Selection Process for NIFTEM MBA Programme
The selection procedure to MBA Programme is based on last two years’ valid score of CAT/MAT and an Internal-Test for Non-CAT/MAT category applicants (including those not shortlisted through CAT/MAT). The final selection of shortlisted candidates will be made on the basis of GD/PI, past academic performance, and work experience.
Selection Process for NIFTEM PhD Programme
Candidates will be admitted through the Ph.D Research Entrance Test (RET) followed by the interview. CSIR-UGC JRF or any other JRF holders shall be exempted from entrance test but need to appear in the interview. Due to prevailing COVID-19 circumstances, RET and Interview can be conducted by NIFTEM either online/offline. Both NET (including JRF) qualified and RET qualified candidates will appear for interview /presentation where the candidates would be required to discuss their research areas/interest before the interview panel. For the selection of candidates, a weightage of 70% to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in the interview/viva-voce shall be given. Syllabus for the entrance exam will be uploaded later in NIFTEM website.
For Foreign Nationals admission:
Foreign Nationals can seek admission to various Degree Programmes under the following categories:
- Direct Applicants (Full Time Programme) – The Foreign students, who wish to join under Self-financed category, are required to submit their application to the Head, Admission Cell, NIFTEM. The institute’s decision after scrutinizing the applications will be communicated to the respective student/Embassy (with a copy to the student concerned). However, in case of students from restricted countries i.e. Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka, the application MUST be forwarded through their respective Embassy.
- ICCR Cultural Exchange Fellowship Programmes (Govt. Of India) – Candidates desirous of admission under this Fellowship Programme are required to apply through the Indian High Commission/Embassy as the case may be, in their respective Countries. They will send the application to ICCR, Government of India and then ICCR will forward the application/s to our Institute for consideration. In case the applicant is found suitable for admission, admission offer letter will be sent to him/her through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi. Candidates are not eligible for getting any financial assistance from the Institute. Candidates may visit ICCR website, http://www.iccrindia.net/students.html, for more information. Foreign Nationals seeking admission in any one of the aforesaid categories will have to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the programmes as prescribed by the Institute.
