The National Dairy Research Institute, India’s premier institute having expertise in Dairy Production, Processing, and Management has announced the commencement of NDRI Admission 2018 for Ph.D. Programme, Diploma (Dairy Technology) and Diploma (Animal Husbandry & Dairying) for the year 2018-19. ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) Deemed University, Karnal Entrance Exam 2018 will be conducted in online mode on May 20, 2018. Admission shall be made on the basis of merit through All India Entrance Examination conducted by the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal for the course. NDRI Admission 2018
The National Dairy Research Institute has conducted the Entrance Examination for admission to Ph.D. Programme, Diploma (Dairy Technology) and Diploma (Animal Husbandry & Dairying) for the year 2018-19. The eligible candidates who qualify the specific examination are granted admission to the specified course for which candidate has appeared in the entrance exam.
Diploma in Dairy Technology is being offered at Southern Regional Station of the Institute, Bengaluru. This diploma programme offers intensive training in dairy processing, quality assurance of milk and milk products, engineering aspects of dairy processing equipment and dairy business management.
Diploma in Animal Husbandry & Dairying is offered at Eastern Regional Station of the Institute, Kalyani, Nadia District of West Bengal. This programme offers curriculum on different aspects of animal husbandry and dairying.

NDRI Application Form
The NDRI Application Form 2018 is released for admission to Ph.D. Programme, Diploma (Dairy Technology) and Diploma (Animal Husbandry & Dairying) for the year 2018-19. The interested and eligible candidates can apply for the NDRI Admission as per the schedule. The completed application form must be submitted on or before the last date.
For Ph.D. Programme – Rs. 1200/- (For General/OBC) and Rs. 600/- (For SC/ST/PH).
For Diploma (DT) & (AHD) – Rs. 800/- (For General/OBC) and Rs. 400/- (For SC/ST/PH).
For Ph.D. Programme
Candidates having passed Master’s degree in the concerned field with Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.60/ 10.00 on ten-point scale, at least 3.25/5.00 on five-point scale, at least 2.60/ 4.00 on four-point scale for General, OBC and UPS categories candidates whereas for SC/ ST/ Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates the said requirement is an OGPA of at least 5.60/10.00, 2.75/ 5.00, 2.20/ 4.00. In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC, and UPS categories whereas for SC/ ST/ PH categories the minimum requirement is 50% marks.
For Diploma (DT) & (AHD)
50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Agriculture by General, OBC and UPS categories and 40% for SC/ST, PH in the 12th Standard Examination.
For Ph.D. Programme – Minimum age limit shall be 21 years on or before 31-07-2018. There will be no upper age limit.
For Diploma (DT) & (AHD) – Minimum age limit shall be 17 years on or before 31-07-2018 and the maximum age limit shall be 23 years as on 31-07-2018. Maximum age limit for in-service candidates will be 45 years as on 31.07.2018.
The candidate copy of NDRI Admit Card will be available at the end of NDRI Application Form. The candidate shall fill all the details in block letters except the Roll No. and Centre of Examination. The Provisional Roll Nos and Centre of examination of the eligible candidates will be displayed on NDRI website as per the schedule. No dispatch of admit card shall be made.
Therefore, all candidates are advised to visit the NDRI website and note down the roll no. on their admit cards and bring it with them to appear in the examination. The candidate shall show the admit card to the Supervisory Staff otherwise you are not allowed to appear in the exam.
For Diploma Programmes
The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Karnal, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata in Online Mode.
- There will be a common question paper for all candidates based on Physics and Chemistry 12th Standard syllabus for 90 min duration and of 100 marks. Paper will be of objective type with multiple choice questions.
- There will be an additional question paper based on Mathematics of 12th Standard syllabus for the candidates applying for Diploma (DT) programme, while candidates applying for Diploma (AHD) will have to appear for a question paper based on Biology / Agriculture of class 12th syllabus. This paper would be of one-hour duration and for 50 marks.
The qualifying marks in the Entrance Examination will be 50% for General, OBC and UPS and 45% for SC/ST, PH and In-service categories.
The final selection for admission to Diploma Programme will be based on the rank list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Examination. Separate rank lists will be published for Diploma (DT) and Diploma (AHD).
Only those students who complete their qualifying examination in all respects latest before the commencement of academic session 2018-2019 will be considered.
The NDRI has declared the NDRI Result 2017 after the entrance examination has been conducted successfully. The final selection for admission will be based on merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Examination. For Diploma Programmes
The qualified candidates will be called for counseling on the scheduled date for admission. The candidates will mark their attendance on arrival and will be considered for counseling. Those reporting late will have to register arrival time as late entry in the attendance register and will be considered for counseling as per the latest situation of seat availability at that time. The seats already filled up will not be disturbed in such situation.
Candidates called for counseling should bring admit card, all original certificates with mark sheets, SC/ST/OBC category certificate and appropriate certificates for PH and UPS Categories in original for verification and submission.
Candidates must appear in person at the time of counseling. In case a candidate is not in the position to present himself/herself, an authorized representative can attend the counseling on the production of original certificates and authorization letter.
