Application Form 2019

Candidates desirous of obtaining admission into the PG Degree/PG diploma courses offered in the University Departments should apply for the same in the prescribed application form which will be available in the Bharathiar University, at a cost of Rs. 400/- to be remitted by a Bank of India Challan (into the Genral fund Account of Bharathiar University) or a demand draft of any Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharathiar University payable at Coimbatore. SC/ST candidates have to pay only Rs. 200/-provided they produce an attested Photo copy of his/her community certificate along with the request for application.

The candidates shall send a self addressed envelope affixing Rs. 60/- stamp along with a request. Applicants can also download the application form from the website and submit the filled in application along with a DD for Rs. 400/- as Registration fee (Rs. 200 /- for SC / ST candidates) by means of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of, The Registrar, Bharathiar University payable at Coimbatore.

  • The applications shall not be sent to the Registrar.
  • Applications received after the due date will be rejected.
  • Students can also apply for various courses through online.
  • However, fee in this regard will be accepted only through Bank draft or Bank of India challan as indicated above.

Candidates who are eligible and willing to apply for admission to more than one PG degree and PG diploma courses shall submit separate applications for each and every course. Application made for admission to one course will not be considered for any other course.

The application should be accompanied with attested Xerox copies ofthe following certificates.

  • SSLC Mark Sheet
  • HSC Mark Sheet
  • Degree Mark Sheets
  • Community Certificate
  • Provisional / Degree Certificate (if already qualified for degree)
  • Certificate of extra-curricular activities, if any.
  • Certificate of disablement (for disabled students)

Courses Offered

Admission through Entrance Test

For the Following courses admission will be made based on the Entrance test and marks secured in UG courses as indicated earlier.

Direct Admission Courses

For the following courses, provisional admissions will be made directly based on the academic performance in Under Graduate Courses. However, in case of large number of applications, the University reserves the right to conduct entrance examination or counselling.

Admit Card 2019

Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidate to attend the examination. After downloading the admit card, ensure that the data is printed as per the application form submitted by you. In case of any discrepancy, open a ticket in the online query management system for a faster resolution. The candidate must show, on demand, the Admit Card for admission in the examination room/hall. The test will start exactly at the time mentioned in the Admit Card. During the examination time, the invigilator will check Admit Card of the candidate to satisfy himself/herself about the identity of each candidate.

Selection Procedure for Admission by Entrance Test

As per the last year data ,the selection will be based on the marks scored by the candidates in the entrance test and the average of Marks secured by them upto 5th Semester / ll year of their UG degree course of study. For other courses candidates will be admitted directly.

The weightage will be as follows:

  • Entrance Test – 60 marks
  • UG Course of study (upto V Sem. / ll year) – 40 marks

The total marks scored upto 5th semester of study (if it is semester pattern) or upto ll year of study (if it is annual pattern) in the UG degree course in all subjects other than i) part l / ll Languages and ii) subjects like General Knowledge, NSS, irrespective of the candidate appearing for April 2018 examinations or already qualified for the award of degree, shall be reduced to 40 marks. lf a candidate has failed in some subjects upto V semester/ I year as the case may be, as on date of application, the marks secured in all subjects (passed and failed) shall be taken to arrive at the total marks scored.

The question paper for the entrance test shall consist of 60 objective type questions with 4 choices to choose among, carrying 1 (one) mark each and the duration of the test will be 90 minutes.

Provisional list of selected / wait listed candidates will be put up in the notice boards of the respective departments within fifteen days after the date of entrance test.

The selected candidates shall be required to surrender their original Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate Community Certificate, Mark sheets, (SSLC, HSC, Degree) Provisional / Degree Certificates and a set of attested Xerox copies of all the certificates and remit the prescribed fee on or before the last date indicated in their admission card.
