TNAU Admission 2020 Counselling
The counseling is going to be conducted in online mode. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University releases a Counselling letter for UG Applications. The UG Counseling fee is Rs.2000 (Rs.1000 for SC/SCA/ST), and it is non – refundable. Within the mentioned time period candidate should report at the allotted institute.

TNAU Admission 2020 Mode of Selection
For Diploma Admission –
Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks in their qualifying examination and common ranking procedure with marks as calculated below. A single window counseling system is being followed for admission to all diploma programs and for campus allotment.
For UG Admission – Candidates will be ranked on the basis of their marks in the +2 qualifying examination and called for online counseling based on rank. College and degree allotment will be made based on their rank and preference exercised by the candidate. Separate counseling will be held for special reservations. Certificate verification will be held at Coimbatore campus only. Sliding system will be followed.
For All Masters / Doctoral Programme –Written test with Multiple choice questions from the respective subjects will be for one hour fifteen minutes duration. Candidates applied for two subjects should write the examination for both the subjects continuously for two and a half hours.

TNAU Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria
For Diploma Courses
- A pass in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereof and fulfilling the following requirements.
- HSC / Equivalent – Academic Stream Candidates should have studied and passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology in the qualifying examinations. B. HSC – Vocational Stream
- Candidates who passed HSC under vocational stream and studied Biology and Vocational Subject Agricultural Practices (theory and practical) are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who passed HSC under vocational stream and studied Biology, Agricultural Science – Theory, Agricultural Science – Practical and Computer Technology as vocational subjects are eligible to apply.
Candidates should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year (as on 01.07.2020). However, for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar/ Scheduled Tribes there is no age limit.
For Undergraduates Programme
Candidates should have passed ALL the subjects in Academic stream of the Qualifying Examination with 10+2 years of schooling and scored minimum eligibility marks under Board of Higher Secondary Education of Government of Tamil Nadu / Central Board of Secondary Education / Council for the Indian school certificate examinations / other State Government Boards / other recognized International Boards.
Eligible Subjects of study in the Qualifying Examination
Age Limit: Candidates should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year. However, for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Caste-Arunthathiars (SCA) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) there is NO AGE LIMIT.
Physical fitness: A certificate regarding the physical standards prescribed shall be obtained from the Medical Officer of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore at the time of admission. Candidates, who aspire for Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination, please check the physical standard requirement with appropriate agency.
For Post Graduates Programmes
Only those students who have studied in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs)/ Colleges affiliated to SAUs/Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs)/ICAR Deemed Universities/Central Universities with Agriculture Faculty listed by ICAR/ any other institutes accredited by NAEAB (ICAR) alone are eligible for admission to TNAU for Masters & Doctoral programs.
Masters program: Graduates who have successfully completed four year undergraduate degree program (specified below) and awarded by any one of the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs)/ Colleges affiliated to SAUs/Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs)/ICAR Deemed Universities/Central Universities with Agriculture Faculty listed by ICAR/ any other institutes accredited by NAEAB (ICAR) alone are eligible to apply for Masters program.
Doctoral program: Candidates who have successfully completed four year undergraduate degree program and two year Masters program (specified below) and awarded by any one of the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs)/ Colleges affiliated to SAUs/Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs)/ICAR Deemed Universities/Central Universities with Agriculture Faculty listed by ICAR/ any other institutes accredited by NAEAB (ICAR) alone are eligible to apply for the doctoral program.
