GKCIET Admission 2018
GKCIET offers Diploma Courses of 3 years. GKCIET mainly offers Admission in the Diploma Programs to be offered by the Institute under the WBSCT&VE&SD, Kolkata in the session of 2018-19. This Entrance Test (GET2018) is applicable for the candidates from other States excluding West Bengal. Admission to all Diploma Courses shall be made on the basis of a National Level Entrance Test (GET-2018). All admissions will be made on the merit determined for admission by the Institute. Candidates 50% of the approved intake is to be filled up through JEXPO Examination conducted by WBSCT&VE&SD, Kolkata for the candidates of West Bengal and remaining 50% of the approved intake is to be filled up by a separate entrance test (GKCIET Entrance Test or GET) conducted by Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology (GKCIET), Malda for the candidates from other states excluding West Bengal.

GKCIET GET 2018: Application Form
GKCIET has released the application form for GKCIET 2018. The application form is available only in online mode. Candidates can apply for the entrance test by registering on the official website of the university or candidates can download the application form online and fill the required details. Candidates have to fill all the required details such as their qualification certificates to successfully apply for the entrance test. The university will automatically reject forms with missing information. Candidates will have to submit a processing fees.
Filled-in application shall be sent along with a processing fee of Rs.500/- (for SC/ST candidates Rs 200/- & there is no application fee for the candidates applying under PWD category) in favour of “Accounts Officer, GKCIET, Malda” payable at Malda.

GKCIET GET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for admission into each course available in Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology (GKCIET) along with the entrance test one has to take are given below. Those who do not fulfill them, will unfortunately, not get admission.
(i) Must be an Indian Citizen and medically fit.
(ii) The minimum qualification for admission to the Diploma Programs isMatric (10th Std.) pass or its equivalent examination with English, Physical Science/ Science (Physics & Chemistry) and Mathematics from a State Secondary Education Board / CBSE /ICSE /National Open School or equivalent securing at least 35% marks in aggregate as per AICTE norms excluding marks of the subjects taken as additional. The candidates appeared/appearing in secondary or equivalent examination in 2018 with English, Physical Science/ Science (Physics & Chemistry) and Mathematics may also apply conforming to the benchmark of 35% marks in aggregate excluding marks of the subjects taken as additional at the time of

GKCIET GET 2018 Admit Card
Admit Card will be sent through e-mail to the individual eligible candidate and may also be available by request to the e-mail ID at [email protected] or by hand from the Institute Office after receiving hard copy of Application Form and Demand Draft by the office for the GET2018. Admit Card shall also be send by post.

GKCIET GET 2018 Exam Pattern
GKCIET Entrance Test (GET-2018) for admission to the Diploma Programs will consist of two papers (each of 2:00 hours duration) comprises of Mathematics’ as the FIRST paper and ‘Physics & Chemistry or Physical Science or Science’ as the SECOND paper. ‘Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)’ shall be set for both the papers. The FIRST paper (Mathematics) will be of 100 marks with 100 MCQ and the SECOND paper is also of 100 marks (Physics and Chemistry, 50 marks each) with 100 MCQ. Under no circumstances, repeat examination will be conducted for those who are unable to appear in the examination on the scheduled date and time. Candidates appearing for the entrance test for Diploma Programs shall have to answer questions in English. Question paper will be provided in English only.
GKCIET GET 2018 Result
Candidates who have appeared in the entrance examination for Diploma Programs can able to check their result as the result has been sent through email as provided by the candidates. All admissions will be made on the merit determined for admission by the Institute. The result is available in the online mode. The hard copy of the same has also been sent through post. Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology have announced the result for GKCIET 2018.
GKCIET GET 2018 Counselling
The exact schedule of counselling and number of candidates called will be displayed on the website of the Institute namely, www.gkciet.ac.in. However, the process of counselling will commence tentatively in June, 2018. No separate Call Letters will be sent to the candidates for attending Counselling.However, if a candidate fails to attend counselling in time due to any reason, s/he may appear in the next available counselling (if any). Such candidate will have to keep track of the next available counselling schedule which will be available on the Institute website. His/her claims in such subsequent counselling in which s/he may participate may be considered in accordance with his/her merit/choice and availability of seats in a particular trade/ branch/specialization during the said subsequent counselling.
- Admissions are based on the GKCIET GET-2018 rank, subject to fulfillment of other eligibility criteria.
The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with minimum percentage of marks as mentioned in Section C (in the instructions booklet) when she is called for the counseling for admission, failing which the qualified candidates next in rank would be admitted.
- Admission to all Diploma Courses shall be made on the basis of a National Level Entrance Test (GET-2018). All admissions will be made on the merit determined for admission by the Institute. In case of tie among two or more candidates, the candidate having higher marks in qualifying examination shall be
placed higher in merit. Again, if there is tie in qualifying marks, candidate elder in age by date of birth as per the relevant entry in the matriculation certificate shall be placed higher in merit.
- Seat reservation for the reserved categories will be made as per the latest guidelines issued by the Government of India from time to time. Any candidate claims a seat under reservation quota must submit copy of relevant certificate(s) issued by the competent authority along with the Application Form, else s/he will be treated as a general candidate.
- Total seats meant for Diploma Courses are bifurcated for the candidates of the State of West Bengal and for the candidates belong to other States, Quota for West Bengal: 50% Quota for Other States and U.T 50% The GET-2018 is applicable for the candidates from other states and UT excluding the state of West Bengal. In this regard, the candidates have to furnish Residential/Domicile Certificate from the Government/ Appropriate Body to claim territorial quota.

The fee structure of the 3 year diploma programs for the academic session of 2018-2019 will be available on the website of the Institute. Hostel accommodation is not available at present. However, the hostel facility at Permanent Campus of the Institute at Narayanpur, Malda shall be available after construction in due course of time.
