Manipal University Admission 2018 has begun. The University grants admission on the basis of Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU OET). However, for few courses, the score of National Level examinations / direct interviews are also considered. MU OET 2018 will be held in the month of April – May 2018. The exam dates for the each course will be different and will be announced in time. The online registration for MU Admission 2018 has started one by one for all the courses. The candidates who will register will be able to successfully book a slot from MU OTBS. Eligibility Criteria to Get Admission in Manipal University

Aspirant of all the courses will be required to satisfy the eligibility criteria of Manipal University Admission 2018. The criteria of eligibility for all the courses is mentioned below.

B.Tech: The applicant must have passed 10+2 / A Level / IB / American 12th Grade / etc from a recognized institute with minimum aggregate of 50%.

  • Basis of Admission – MU OET 2018

MBBS and BDS: Will be provided soon but candidates must have qualified 10+2 / equivalent.

  • Basis of Admission – NEET 2018

BBA: The applicant must have passed 10+2 / A Level / IB / American 12th Grade / etc from a recognized institute with minimum aggregate of 50%.

  • Basis of Admission – MU OET Merit

BE Twinning: The candidates must have passed Pass 10+2: CBSE, ICSE, ‘A’ Levels, IB, HSC, OSSD, American High School Diploma with minimum of 60% marks. Candidates with non-English medium can also apply if they have obtained a score of over 90 in TOFEFL.

  • Basis of Admission – Marks in Qualifying Exam.
  • Basis of Admission for Architecture course at ICAS – Above 80 marks in NATA.

B.Sc (in the field of Medicine): Candidates must have qualified 10+2 / A Level / IB / American 12th Grade / etc with minimum of 50% marks. The core subjects in the qualifying exam must be Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

  • Basis of Admission – Marks in Qualifying Exam

B.Sc (in Health Information Administration): In 10+2 / A Level / IB / American 12th Grade / etc the candidates must have secure above 50% marks in any stream.

  • Basis of Admission – Marks in Qualifying Exam

B.Sc (in Nursing): 10+2 / A Level / IB / American 12th Grade / etc are the qualifying examinations. In these, the candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. The aggregate of these subjects should be more than 45% marks.

  • Basis of Admission – Marks in Qualifying Exam

Post Basic Diploma (in Neonatal, Oncology, and Operation Room Nursing): Candidates should have qualified any of B.Sc / PB BSc Nursing / GNM with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

  • Basis of Admission – Marks in Qualifying Exam

PB B.Sc (in Nursing): After completing 10+2, the candidates should have done GNM (preferably with Science and completed before 01.06.2018). Along with this, the candidates must also be a registered Nurse and registered Midwife with State Nursing Registration Council.

  • Basis of Admission – Marks in Qualifying Exam

Post Basic Diploma (Cardiothoracic, Critical Care, Emergency & Disaster, Psychiatric /Mental Health , Neuroscience, Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Nursing, and Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery): The candidates need to qualify B.Sc / PB B.Sc Nursing / GNM with 55% aggregate marks.

MU OET 2018 Registration and Application Form Submission

Candidates looking forward to take admissions to various professional degree courses from Manipal University for session 2018, are required to first get themselves registered online for taking MU OET 2018 exam.

The next step involves filling in the online MU OET 2018 application form and submission of the same via online mode. Before a candidate attempt to fill in the application form for MU OET 2018, reading all relevant instructions carefully is mandatory. Do not forget to pay the application fee and online exam fee either through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, and Demand Draft.

  • The candidates have to pay total of Rs. 2000 (Rs. 600 as application form and Rs. 1400 as exam fee)

MU OET 2018 Slot Booking and Admit Card

The slot booking for MU OET 2018 will open in the month of March 2018. The candidates will be able to book the slot online, from Manipal University Online Test Booking System (OTBS). The following guidelines are to be followed in order to book the slot and download the admit card.

  • In order to book the slot to take the online test, candidates need to go to the Manipal website.
  • Only those candidates are eligible to book their slot for taking online test 2018, who have duly filled in the application form and have submitted the same on or before the last date for doing so under a particular programme.
  • While booking the slot for the online test schedule, make sure that you have with you a xerox copy of your submitted application form and Password for booking the slot.
  • Once you have booked the slot then the same can not be changed in any circumstance.
  • Upon successful completion of slot booking procedure, Manipal University will send the online test booking password, much before the online test, to you through e-mail.
  • In case of non-receipt of such password, candidates should immediately contact the admission office.
  • In case, all slots in the centre of your choice is pre-occupied then you can book the slot for alternative test centre.
  • Once, the slot is booked, the system will generate an admit card. Candidates may downoload it and secure a copy of it.

MU OET 2018 Exam Pattern

The Manipal University is yet to announce the exam pattern of the examination. Candidates can check the last year’s exam pattern until then. It is as mentioned below.

B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering (Applicable to BTech/BPharm/PharmD courses)

Duration-2.30 hours,

  • There will be one question paper of multiple choice questions (MCQ), The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Physics -50, Chemistry-50, Mathematics-70, English & General Aptitude-30.

B.Com, B.Com Professional, BBA

Duration – 2.00 hours,

  • There will be one question paper of multiple choice questions (MCQ), of the objective type which carries 100 marks which is divided into Numeracy (20), Conceptual (25), General English (20), General Awareness (20), Case Study (15).

Lateral B.Tech

Duration – 1 hour.

  • Diploma level-Mathematics (50), Physics (10), Chemistry (10) and Communication Skills in English(20)
  • BSc graduates with Mathematics will have a separate question paper consisting of 70 questions in Mathematics and 20 questions in Communication Skills in English.

MA- Master’s in Media & Communication

Duration – 2 hours.

  • There will be one question paper of 120 multiple choice questions (MCQ), of the objective type.
  • The test includes questions on reading comprehension, verbal ability (spotting errors, sentence improvement, vocabulary, etc.), quantitative & numerical ability (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data interpretation etc.) and reasoning & general intelligence (analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, general intelligence etc.). There could also be a few questions on the latest trends and developments in the media, social and economic areas.

MAF -Master in Film Making

Duration – 2 hours.

  • There will be one question paper of 120 multiple choice questions (MCQ), of the objective type. The test includes questions on reading comprehension, verbal ability (spotting errors, sentence improvement, vocabulary, etc.), quantitative & numerical ability (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data interpretation etc.) and reasoning & general intelligence (analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, general intelligence etc.). There could also be a few questions on the latest trends and developments in the media, social and economic areas.

Master in Physiotherapy

Duration – 2 hours

  • There will be one question paper of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ),of the objective type. The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Physiotherapy in Community Health (10), Electro diagnosis (05), Ergonomics and Biomechanics (25), Exercise Physiology (05), Kinesiotherapeutics (25), Physiotherapy in Neurology (30), Physiotherapy in Cardio Pulmonary (30),Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics (30), Electrotherapy (20), Anatomy (10), Physiology(10).

MASLP

Duration – 2 hours.

  • It consists of 2 sections, section I includes 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of objective type related to Speech and Hearing and section II includes 50 multiple choice questions related to Allied Health Subjects. The approximate distribution of questions is as follows:
    • Section I: Fluency (15), Articulation (15), Voice (15), Childhood Communication Disorder (15),Neurogenic Language Disorders (15), Neurogenic Speech Disorders (15), Diagnostic Audiology (15), Paediatric Audiology (10), Rehabilitative Audiology (07), Educational Audiology (08), Hearing Aids (15), Noise (05).
    • Section II: Anatomy (10), Physiology (05), Psychology (05), Electronics (05), Acoustics (05), Statistics &Research Methodology (05), ENT (05), Linguistics & Phonetics (10).

PGDCC – Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Communication

Duration – 2 hours.

  • There will be one question paper of 120 multiple choice questions (MCQ), of the objective type. The test includes questions on reading comprehension, verbal ability (spotting errors, sentence improvement, vocabulary, etc.), quantitative & numerical ability (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data interpretation etc.) and reasoning & general intelligence (analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, general intelligence etc.). There could also be a few questions on the latest trends and developments in the media, social and economic areas.

Master of Computer Applications

  • The test duration is of 1.30 hours and consists of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type.
  • The subjects and approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Mental Ability (25), Basic Mathematics (10), General English (25) and Computer Aptitude (40).

ME -Embedded Systems & Instrumentation (Dual Degree)

Duration-1.30 hours.

  • There will be one question paper of 60 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type.
  • Each question carries four marks.
  • Each correct answer will be awarded four marks.
  • One mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer.
  • Each paper shall have 50 Questions from the respective disciplines & 10 questions from Engineering Mathematics.

ME – Master of Engineering

Duration-1.30 hours.

  • There will be one question paper of 60 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type.
  • Each question carries four marks. Each correct answer will be awarded four marks.
  • One mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer.
  • Each paper shall have 50 Questions from the respective disciplines & 10 questions from Engineering Mathematics.
  • Candidates applying for MSc Tech programs have to give an entrance test in any ONE of the following disciplines. Based on the qualifying degree, candidate is expected to select any one of the following discipline in the online test booking system. Request for change of discipline after selection in online test booking system will not be considered. The choice of the paper is the responsibility of the candidate.

M.Sc – Postgraduate Degree

Duration-2 hours and consists of 3 sections.

  • The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Section 1-Zoology (40), Section 2-Botany (40), Section 3- Chemistry including Biochemistry (40).
  • The question paper is of multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type, covering the syllabus of BSc level followed by major Indian Universities.

M.Sc Nursing – Master of Science in Nursing

Duration-2 hours.

  • There will be one question paper of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of objective type covering the subjects of BSc Nursing.

MPharm – Master of Pharmacy

Duration – 2 hours

  • There will be one question paper of 200 multiple choice question (MCQ), of the objective type.
  • The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Pharmaceutical Analysis (25), Pharmaceutical Chemistry (25), Pharmacology (25), Pharmacy Practice (25), Pharmacognosy (25), Pharmaceutics (25), Pharmaceutical Marketing, Management & Jurisprudence (25), Biochemistry, Pathology, Physiology, Microbiology and Biotechnology (25).
