Full Name: Common Law Admission Test

Organizing Body: Consortium of NLU

CLAT is one of the renowned and deemed law entrance exams. It is organized for the admission to the national law universities. CLAT is usually scheduled in the month of May every year. Separate exam pattern is followed for the UG and PG courses. To appear in the exam, the candidates must have scored minimum 45% marks in the qualifying exam. CLAT is a computer based online test. Two hours are given to attempt the question paper. The exam will have 150 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. The test measures the candidate’s ability in nearly five sections.

Organizing Body: NLU, Delhi

AILET is the law entrance exam which is hosted at All India level. The basic purpose of this exam is to offer admission to the deserving candidates in the law courses. AILET is usually held in May. The level of the competition is very high due to a large number of aspirants and limited seats. There are five sections in the exam which judge the candidate’s ability to solve the problematic questions. 1 hour and 30 minutes will be allotted to solve the exam paper. Negative marking is applicable for the incorrect answers.

LSAT is one of the recognized Law Entrance Exams which is organized at the institute level. This entrance exam is hosted to grant admission in the various law courses. The applicant must have passed the qualifying exam from the recognized board. The test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability in nearly three sections. Two hours and 20 minutes will be given to solve the questions.

Organizing Body: University of Delhi

DU law entrance exam is one of the renowned LAW Entrance Exam. This entrance is hosted to grant admission in the various law courses. The exam is scheduled for the month of June every year. The student must have passed the senior secondary examination from the recognized board. The exam is objective in nature with approximately 175 multiple choice questions. The medium of the exam is English. Negative marking of ONE (1) mark is applicable for the wrong answers.


Full Name: BHU Undergraduate entrance test

Organizing Body: Banaras Hindu University

BHU undergraduate entrance test is the top level law entrance exam which is organized to provide admission in the university and its affiliated colleges. The exam is usually scheduled in the month of June every year. To appear in this entrance exam, the applicant must have cleared the qualifying exam from the recognized board. BHU Undergraduate entrance test is the offline exam in which the aspirants have to mark their answers on the machine-graded OMR sheet. Final admission will be done through the merit list of the successful candidates.

Organizing Body: Christ University

Another recognized university-level Law Entrance Exams is Christ university law entrance test which offers enrollment or admission in the various undergraduate law courses. The exam is held in the month of April. The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination with 45% marks. This exam is conducted with the sole objective to grant admissions in the Christ law of college. The duration of the exam is two hours. The exam will have 120 questions. Negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for the wrong answers.

Organizing Body: GGSIPU

IPU law common entrance test is the university level common entrance test which grants admission in the undergraduate law courses in the university. The exam is organized in April. This is one of the recognized Law Entrance Exams. The exam will have objective questions with multiple choices and only one correct answer. IPU CET Law is the offline paper-based examination. Final admission will be done through counseling which is organized on the basis of the merit list of the qualified aspirants.

Another recognized Law Entrance Exams is UPES Law studies aptitude test. The entrance test is scheduled in May every year. UP SAT is the university level entrance exam for the admissions in the law courses. The exam is held in the online computer based mode. To appear in the entrance examination, the applicant must have cleared the qualifying examination with minimum 50% aggregate. The exam will have 200 multiple choice questions. The exam comprises of nearly five sections. The questions in the exam are objective in nature.

Full Name: JMI Law admission test

Organizing Body: Jama Millia Islamia University

JMI Law is another college level law entrance exam which is hosted to grant admissions in the UG law courses. The applicants must have passed their qualifying exams from recognized board. JMI Law is usually organized in the month of May every year. The students will be selected according to the merit in the entrance exam conducted by the institute. The exam is objective and subjective in nature. JMI Law exam is an offline paper-based examination.

Organizing Body: Symbiosis law school

Law Entrance Exams includes another deemed entrance exam namely Symbiosis entrance test. It is the institute level law entrance exam which is hosted in the month of May every year to offer admissions to the deserving aspirants. To appear in the exam, the applicants need to pass the qualifying exam from the recognized board. The entrance exam is followed by a personal interview and word ability test. The exam is an offline paper-based test. The questions in the exam are objective in nature.

    Direct apply in NLU is possible not giving CLAT ?

      If university is participating in CLAT, there is no direct admission procedure. If its not participating in CLAT, it may conduct its own test like AILET, HPNLET etc.

      There are some seats for direct admission in NLU for Foreign Nationals.

      Yes, you can apply for LLB. However please check specific eligibility criteria of the college / university you want to apply.
