Punjab ITI Admission 2027 is the online, merit-based admission to trades in Government and private ITIs of Punjab, run by the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training (PSBTE & IT). There is no entrance test: merit comes from Class 8 or Class 10 marks. Registration is expected to open in June 2027 on itipunjab.admissions.nic.in.

Is there an entrance exam for Punjab ITI admission 2027?
No. Punjab fills ITI seats on merit in the qualifying exam for each trade: Class 8 for trades such as Welder or Plumber, Class 10 for most trades. There is no admission test. Seats are allotted online in rounds according to your merit, category and the trade and ITI choices you fill.
Higher qualifications earn extra marks. For Class 8 based trades, a Class 10 pass adds 2% and a higher qualification 3% to your Class 8 percentage. For Class 10 based trades, a Class 12 pass adds 3% and a higher qualification 5%. CBSE grade points are multiplied by 9.5 to give a percentage, and in a tie the older candidate ranks higher.

Punjab ITI Admission 2027 Important Dates
PSBTE & IT has not announced the 2027 schedule yet. In 2026 registration opened on 5 June 2026 and the Round 1 seat allotment came on 17 July 2026, so registration for 2027 is expected to open in June 2027.

How to Apply for Punjab ITI Admission 2027
You register online on the Punjab ITI admission portal, itipunjab.admissions.nic.in, once the 2027 registration opens. Registration is a one-time process: the same login is used for every counselling round, and you only fill choices again if you do not get a seat.
Apply Online for Punjab ITI 2027
Applications for Punjab ITI 2027 are expected in June 2027.
- Open the portal and choose New Registration. Use your own mobile number linked to your Aadhaar and a unique e-mail ID; neither can be changed later on the portal.
- Fill in your name, parents’ names, date of birth, gender, category and qualification details, and upload a recent colour photograph and your certificates. Upload category proof, or you will be treated as General category.
- Take a printout of the filled form and keep your password safe. Until your documents are verified, you can correct details through Edit Registration.
- Pay the Rs 100 document verification processing fee online by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI, and check in your login that the payment is confirmed.
- Select the nearest designated institute (a Government ITI) to verify your documents online. You can fill choices only after this verification.
- Fill and save your trade and ITI choices in order of preference within the choice-filling dates of the round.
The Rs 100 processing fee is the only charge at the application stage. The yearly fee below is paid after a seat is allotted. It includes the Rs 100 yearly fund of the Punjab Industrial Trainees Sports Association.

Eligible SC students under the Post Matric Scholarship scheme get a freeship card and are admitted without paying the fee; the fee reaches their bank account later and is then deposited with the ITI. In private ITIs, 5% of seats are charged the Government ITI fee for Punjab residents with a family income below Rs 2 lakh a year.
How does Punjab ITI counselling and seat allotment work?
Punjab ITI eCounselling has three online rounds, followed by a spot round for vacant seats. In 2026 the Round 1, 2 and 3 seat allotment results came on 17 July, 29 July and 6 August 2026.
- After document verification, fill and save your choices of trade and ITI within the round’s choice-filling window. You can move, delete, edit and rearrange choices until the window closes.
- On the result date, log in to view your seat allotment and print the provisional seat allotment letter.
- Deposit the admission fee, confirm the seat and report at the allotted ITI within the reporting dates. Government ITI tuition and funds are paid online through the portal.
- If no seat is allotted, take part in the next round with the same registration by filling your choices again.
- After Round 3, a seat withdrawn option was given (9 August 2026), and remaining seats went to the spot round.
In the spot round, candidates reported on fixed days according to their percentage in the minimum qualification for the trade. These were the 2026 reporting days.

After the spot round, registered and verified candidates could take on-the-spot admission against vacant seats directly at an ITI, first come first served, paying the fee there. In 2026 this window was extended to 22 September 2026.
How to Check the Punjab ITI Merit List and Seat Allotment Result
Your Punjab ITI result is the seat allotment of each round, which you see after logging in to the admission portal. Merit is worked out from your verified qualifying marks, so check your marks and category carefully at registration.
- Open itipunjab.admissions.nic.in and choose the registered candidate login.
- Enter the login ID and password you created at registration.
- Open the seat allotment details for the round to see the ITI and trade allotted to you.
- Print the provisional seat allotment letter, pay the fee and report at the ITI before the deadline, or fill choices again for the next round if no seat is allotted.
Who can apply for Punjab ITI admission 2027?
You need the minimum qualification of the trade you choose: Class 8, Class 10 (often with Science and Maths) or, for a few trades, Class 12. You must be physically fit and at least 14 years old on 1 August of the admission year. There is no upper age limit.

85% of seats are for Punjab residents who passed the qualifying exam from a school in Punjab, and 15% are open to candidates from other states. Children of Punjab Government employees and of Punjab-origin defence personnel are exempt from the residence condition. Driver cum Mechanic (Heavy Motor Vehicle) needs a minimum age of 18.
Which trades are offered in Punjab ITIs?
The 2026-27 prospectus lists 78 NCVT trades in Government and private ITIs, plus SCVT courses such as Punjabi Stenography. These are some of the main trades with their duration and unit size.

Before choosing a trade, check with the ITI head, or on the DGT Skill India Digital Hub ITI search, whether the trade at that ITI is NCVT, DST or SCVT affiliated. The department can stop admission in any trade or unit that lacks facilities, so check the 2027 trade list when it is out.
How are Punjab ITI seats reserved?
Seats are reserved as per Punjab Government policy, and the 2026-27 prospectus sets these shares. In addition, 30% of seats in each category go to women candidates.

Reserved seats apply in the first and second rounds as per Punjab Government notifications. Seats left in the Punjab and other-state pools after these rounds can be shifted between the two pools.
