Odisha ITI Admission 2026-27 is the online e-Admission run by the Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTET), Odisha, through SAMS for Government and private ITIs. There is no entrance exam: seats are filled on Class 10 marks. A spot admission registration window is open from 10 to 15 October 2026.

Latest (10 October 2026): SAMS opened ITI spot admission registration and application fee payment on 10 October 2026. The window closes on 15 October 2026. The main 2026-27 rounds ended with the 2nd selection list on 28 July 2026.

Is there an entrance exam for Odisha ITI admission?

No. Admission to the 1st year of ITI courses in Odisha is made only on the merit rank drawn from your marks in the qualifying examination (Class 10) and the ITI and trade choices you fill in. There is no written test, admit card or answer key.

DTET runs the process through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS), a single online window for all Government and private ITIs in the state. SAMS lists 72 Government ITIs and 395 private ITIs, and its 2026-27 statistics show a sanctioned strength of 75,756 seats across 460 institutes.

What is the Odisha ITI spot admission 2026?

Spot admission fills the ITI seats still vacant after the 1st and 2nd selection lists. Registration and payment of the application fee for the current spot window run from 10 to 15 October 2026 on the SAMS ITI portal. The earlier spot phase ran at the ITIs from 3 August to 22 September 2026.

Fresh applicants from any district can register, along with those who registered earlier but got no seat.
Candidates who were allotted a seat but did not report, or who took admission and then took their TC, can also join.
Take the printed CAF and all original documents to the ITI. The ITI tags your form with an OTP sent to your SAMS-registered mobile, so carry that phone.
Under the 2026-27 SOP, ITIs tag forms till 1:00 PM each day, the merit list appears in the ITI’s e-Space at 2:00 PM and admissions close by 8:00 PM.
In the August 2026 spot phase, the first days were kept for SC, ST and SEBC candidates, then for girls, and then for unreserved boys.

Seats are given by merit within the reservation rules. Unfilled reserved seats are de-reserved only in the spot round, and girls’ seats pass to boys only after girl applicants run out. The tagging and admission dates for the October window are posted on the SAMS ITI portal.

How to Apply for Odisha ITI Admission 2026-27

You apply only online, through one Common Application Form (CAF) that covers every trade in every Government and private ITI in Odisha. You can fill it from any Common Service Centre, the internet facility centre in a Government ITI, a cyber cafe or your own phone or computer.

Open skill.samsodisha.gov.in, choose ITI and click New Registration. Enter your name as in your Class 10 records, your mobile number and email, verify the OTP and set a password.
Log in with your registered mobile number, password and captcha, and open the Application Form. You can fetch your marks and details through DigiLocker; BSE Odisha candidates of 2014 to 2026 get their marks auto-filled from the roll number.
Fill in your academic details (Class 10 pass or fail, board, year, exam type, roll number), personal details and any reservation or weightage claim.
Upload a colour photo in JPG format of 20 to 100 KB, then choose ITIs and trades in your order of preference.
Pay the Rs 100 application fee online by debit card, credit card or net banking, and print the Applicant Copy. Keep its barcode number, user ID and password safe.

Who can apply for Odisha ITI admission 2026?

You must be at least 14 years old on 1 August 2026, and there is no upper age limit. The minimum qualification is Class 10 pass or Class 10 fail from BSE Odisha or an equivalent board, depending on the trade.

The 2026-27 prospectus lists 76 trades, from the 6-month Smart Phone Technician-cum-App Tester to 2-year engineering trades. How is the Odisha ITI merit list prepared?

Your rank comes from your aggregate Class 10 marks, worked out on all subjects in the marksheet, including any additional subject. For example, a CBSE candidate with 455 out of 600 has an aggregate of 75.83%. ICSE candidates are ranked on total marks, not the percentage printed on the marksheet.

Weightage of 15% over your aggregate goes to participants in the State School team or State Junior Group in national events, with certificates countersigned by the Director of Sports, Odisha.
Players who represented India, an All India University team or the state senior team in a national competition are admitted irrespective of marks, if otherwise eligible.
All seats are open to applicants from every district at state level; there is no home-district quota.
In non-matric trades, 50% of seats go to Class 10-fail candidates and 50% to Class 10-pass candidates.
SC, ST and SEBC candidates who make the general merit list are counted against unreserved seats.

SAMS then allots seats by merit, reservation and the order of your choices. If you get a lower choice, you move up automatically (auto slide-up) when a better seat frees up, unless you freeze your seat with the Annexure-7 option in your login. Some Government ITIs follow special rules: the Special ITI for PwD at Jatni reserves all seats for candidates with 60% or more disability, and six ITIs set up under MSDP or PMJVK reserve all seats for minority candidates. ITI Malkangiri and several tribal-area ITIs have higher ST reservation.

What is the admission fee in Odisha Government ITIs?

You pay the admission fee to the Principal of the ITI when you report. Government ITIs follow the fee fixed in 2016; private ITI fees are announced separately by SAMS.

Only the Rs 100 caution money is refunded after you finish the course. SC and ST candidates with family income up to Rs 2.5 lakh pay at admission and get the fee reimbursed later, and orphans admitted to Government ITIs are exempt from most charges.

What documents do you need at the ITI?

The original Transfer Certificate is compulsory. If you do not have it at admission, you must give an undertaking and submit it within 7 days, or the admission is cancelled and the seat goes to the next round. Admission is also cancelled at any stage if a document is found forged.

How many ITI seats are there in Odisha?

SAMS statistics for 2026-27 show a sanctioned strength of 75,756 seats across 460 Government and private ITIs. By 13 October 2026, 93,878 candidates had registered and 80,337 had applied online.

Can I get ITI admission in Odisha if I failed Class 10?

Yes, in trades whose entry qualification is Class 10 fail, such as Welder, Plumber, Wireman, Mason, Dress Making and Painter General. Half the seats in these non-matric trades are kept for Class 10-fail candidates.

When will Odisha ITI Admission 2027-28 start?

The 2027-28 schedule is not announced yet. In 2026 the online form opened on 14 April, so the next form is expected around April 2027.

What happens if I am selected but do not take admission?

Your name is removed from the system for that phase of admission. You can still try for a vacant seat later through spot admission.

Can I change my registered mobile number?

Yes, but only at a Government ITI. Submit a written request with self-attested copies of your Aadhaar card and Class 10 certificate; the ITI verifies your identity before changing it.
