Assam ITI Admission 2027 is the online, merit-based admission to trades in Government and private ITIs of Assam, run by the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training (DECT). There is no entrance test: ranks come from Class 8, Class 10 or Class 12 marks. Registration is expected to open in May 2027 on itiassam.admissions.nic.in.

Is there an entrance exam for Assam ITI admission 2027?
No. DECT fills ITI seats in Assam on merit. Your rank comes from the marks you scored in the entry qualification for the trade (Class 8, Class 10 or Class 12), and seats are then allotted online in e-counselling rounds by rank, category and the choices you fill.
If two candidates have the same percentage, the 2026 rules looked at Mathematics marks first and then English marks. If those also matched, the system broke the tie at random. Vacant Class 8 (under-matric) trade seats were opened to Class 10 pass candidates from the 3rd e-counselling.

Assam ITI Admission 2027 Important Dates
DECT has not announced the 2027 schedule yet. In 2026 the notification came on 25 May 2026 and registration ran from 26 May to 11 June 2026, so registration for 2027 is expected to open in May 2027.

How to Apply for Assam ITI Admission 2027
You register online through the ITI Assam admission portal, itiassam.admissions.nic.in, once the 2027 registration opens. Registration is a one-time process that stays valid for every e-counselling round, but you can fill choices only after a Govt ITI has verified your documents.
Apply Online for Assam ITI 2027
Applications for Assam ITI 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Open itiassam.admissions.nic.in, go to Registration/Login for Assam ITI Counselling and choose New Candidate Registration. Accept the consent page.
- Enter your name, father’s and mother’s names, date of birth, gender, mobile number and email ID, choose a password and enter the security pin. Note the application number the portal gives you.
- Fill the application form: domicile, category and sub-category, disability, family annual income and highest qualification.
- Enter subject-wise marks of Class 8 and/or Class 10 (HSLC). Fill marks for Class 8 as well if you also want Class 8 based trades. CBSE CGPA must be converted to marks (multiply by 9.5); grades are not accepted.
- Add your address, upload the documents asked for, then preview and final submit. Print your registration details.
- Visit your nearest Govt ITI with all original documents within the verification window. If the ITI raises a discrepancy, log in and re-upload the document.
To log in again, use your application number, password and the security pin on the sign-in page. The Forgot Password link beside the sign-in button asks for your application number and security pin. Forgot Application No asks for your name, parents’ names, date of birth and gender.
The 2026 notification lists no fee for online registration. These fees are paid at a Govt ITI at the time of admission; private and PPP-mode ITIs charge their own fees.

How does Assam ITI e-counselling and seat allotment work?
After ranks are generated, DECT allots seats online in rounds. In 2026 there were five e-counselling rounds between 22 June and 15 July 2026, followed by spot admission rounds for the seats left vacant.
- Log in after your documents are verified, check your rank on your page and fill and save your ITI and trade choices before the deadline.
- Check the seat allotment result after logging in. Allotment is made against one seat and is provisional.
- If you get a seat, print the provisional allotment letter and report at the allotted ITI with the letter, original documents and fees within the admission dates. For a private ITI, pay that ITI’s own fees.
- If you do not freeze your seat at admission, you can be upgraded once, up to the 5th e-counselling, from the choices you already filled. If upgraded, you must join the new seat and the earlier one is cancelled.
- If you get no seat, take part in the next round. Before the 3rd and 4th rounds you can fill or revise choices again.
- After the e-counselling rounds, spot admission rounds are held: you register again, get a rank and report at the preferred ITI for the remaining seats.
If you are allotted a seat and do not take admission, your candidature is forfeited for the whole admission process. Admitted trainees who do not report within fifteen days of the start of classes lose their seat.
How to Check the Assam ITI Merit List and Allotment Result
DECT does not publish separate 1st, 2nd and 3rd merit list PDFs for Assam ITI admission. Your rank (merit position) appears on your own registration page after rank generation, and the result of each round is a seat allotment you see after logging in.
- Open the ITI Assam admission portal and sign in with your application number, password and security pin.
- After rank generation (15 June in 2026), view your rank on your registration details page.
- After each allotment date, open View of seat allotment details to see the ITI and trade allotted to you.
- Print the provisional seat allotment letter and report at the allotted ITI on the admission dates.
Who can apply for Assam ITI admission 2027?
Only permanent residents of Assam can apply. The 2026 notification set a minimum age of 14 years on 1 July 2026 and asked for Class 8, Class 10 or Class 12 pass depending on the trade. For engineering and non-engineering trades the qualifying exam must include Mathematics and English.

- Class 8 pass candidates must submit a Format-I certificate (downloaded from the portal, signed by the school head and attested by the Inspector of Schools or District Elementary Education Officer) with the mark sheet at verification.
- Divyang (PwD) candidates need a trade suitability certificate from the National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled, ITI Guwahati campus, or must choose trades as per DGT trade suitability.
- EWS candidates need an Assam EWS income certificate. Fire Technology and Industrial Safety Management needs height 165 cm, weight 52 kg, chest 81 cm (85 cm expanded) and an MBBS doctor’s fitness certificate.
Which trades and ITIs are available in Assam?
Seats are offered in Govt ITIs under NCVT and SCVT, in higher-fee NCVT and SCVT courses run by Institute Management Committees (IMC), in CoE (BBBT) sectors, and in private and PPP-mode ITIs. These are some of the main trades in the 2026 trade list.

The admission portal says trainees in six CoE TTL courses, including Industrial Robotics and Digital Manufacturing Technician, Mechanic Electric Vehicle and CNC Machining Technician, can get a one-time annual Government assistance of Rs 5,000. Check the 2027 trade list when it is out, because trades and ITIs change every year.
How are Assam ITI seats reserved?
Reservation depends on where the ITI is located, as per the 2026 notification. Women get preference for 30% of the seats in each ITI; unused women’s seats in co-education ITIs go to male candidates.

Within OBC/MOBC, the notification also sets shares for the Koch, Tai Ahom, Chutia, Moran and Motak communities and 5% for TGL/Ex-TGL candidates. Reserved seats left unfilled go to unreserved candidates from the 4th or 5th e-counselling.
