INAT 2021 – Inter University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune, conducts IUCAA National Admission Test to fill seats in Ph.D. programme, offered in Physics, or Astronomy and Astrophysics subjects. The last date of online form submission was 24 August 2021. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on 27 Sep – 29 Sep 2021. Candidates possessing degree in B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc / M.E / M.Tech /M.Sc, and satisfying eligibility criteria, can apply for INAT. INAT 2021 Selection Procedure
According to the applications received and the test, some students are shortlisted who have to then, appear in the other admission process. The selection process for INAT is given below.
Round 1: Applications and referee assessments
Candidates have to first of all submit application form and assessment form. On the basis of these, they are shortlisted for written test.
Round 2: Written test
Candidates need to appear for the written test after filling the application form. The written test consists of objective type questions. There is negative marking in case of wrong answers.
Round 3: Interview
The final admission takes place according to the results of the written test and two interviews. The candidates are required to bring all the original mark sheets starting from class 10th to the exam centre.
INAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria
There are some terms and conditions that candidates have to follow before applying for INAT 2021. Check the eligibility criteria given below for INAT 2021.
Students who have completed or expect to complete their M.Sc./ Integrated M.Sc. in Physics/ Astronomy/ Applied Mathematics or B.E./ B.Tech./ M.E./ M.Tech. in any branch by September 2021 with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible to apply for INAT-2021.
In addition, talented final-year B.Sc., 1st year M.Sc., 3rd/ 4th year Integrated M.Sc. and 2nd/ 3rd year B.E./ B.Tech. students may also apply to be pre-selected for the Ph.D. programme at IUCAA.

Application form for INAT releases online at iucaa.in. Candidates are required to first register to complete the form – filling process. Check the overview of the process to fill application form.

- Find the link to the application form and click on that.
- Register by entering the name and e-mail address.
- Login using the e-mail id and password sent to the registered e-mail id.
- After filling the online application form, the two referees need to fill the online assessment form.

Admit card for INAT releases online at the official website, iucaa.in. Candidates need to carry the following given thing along with the printed copy of hall ticket.

INAT 2021 Exam Pattern
Candidates can see the exam pattern given below to have an idea about how many questions come in the exam, duration of exam, number of questions etc. Check the exam pattern given below for INAT 2021.
- Duration: 2 hours
- Parts: 3
- Type of questions: Multiple – choice questions (MCQ)
- Marking Scheme: +3 for the correct answers. In case of wrong answers, -1 marks will be deducted. In part C, there is no negative marking.

Travel and Stay
The candidates who are not from Pune are going to be paid one and one – third times the train / bus fare by second – class sleeper from their place of residence to Pune for the stay at the time of interviews.
Oustation walk – in candidates who are going to be shortlisted will also be paid according to the above travel support.
Limited accomodation will be given to the candidates who are going to appear for the written admission test at IUCAA campus. Candidates who want to avail the accomadation should send an e-mail request to the Co-ordinator, INAT.

The Inter – University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune is an autonomous institution set up by UGC. It is a great research centre in the areas like Astrophysics, Astronomy and Physics. The centre is situated at Savitribai Phule Pune University campus.
