The Mangalore University will conduct the admission process for the candidates seeking admission in B.Ed as the open Distance Learning course for the academic year 2017-18. The application will be invited in the prescribed form from the candidates with the following eligibility for admission to the Bachelor of Education(B.Ed) – Open Distance Learning Programme (Two years) of Mangalore University. The candidates can apply from the official website of University i.e. mangaloreuniversity.ac.in. The candidates who will be willing to pursue the concerned course will have to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET). On the basis of the marks obtained in the test and available seats, the candidates will be selected for the admission. Mangalore University B.Ed Distance Education 2017
Before applying for the admission to the Mangalore University B.Ed Admission 2017, the candidates must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility conditions prescribed by the University for the mentioned course. The application form and prospectus will be available in person from the office or by post from the prescribed address in respect of the payment of the requisite fee. After the successful application process, the admit card will be issued in order to appear for the examination.

Admit Card 2017
After the successful application, the candidates can get the admit card/admission tickets before the examination. It has been issued to the candidates who will appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET). Only those candidates get the admit card whose applications are found eligible. It will be an important document for the examination, therefore, it is mandatory for the candidates to carry the admit card on the day of the examination as it will consist of the details regarding the examination. The eligible candidates will have to fill the application form in order to apply for the B.Ed course. The application form along with the prospectus will be available in person from the office of the following on payment of Rs.1000/- (Application fee: Rs 200/-, Common Entrance Test Fee: Rs. 800/-) to the Account of Mangalore University in any one of the specified Nationalized banks through the challan. or
Application forms and prospectus may also be obtained by post from The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Mangalore University, Shopping Complex, Mangalagangothri, Mangalore – 574 199 at the this address, by sending the Bank challan on payment of Rs.1040/- in the above manner or Demand Draft of any Nationalised Bank for Rs.1040/-, drawn in favour of ‘The Finance Officer, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri’, payable at Mangalagangothri/Mangalore.

The candidates will be required to fulfil the eligibility criteria before applying for the two years course. Only those candidates application will be taken into consideration who will meet all the eligibility conditions as mentioned below:
- Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Science/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto from a recognized university;
- In-service teachers in elementary/primary education, who have completed and obtained degree on or before the last date stipulated for submission of application form for B.Ed. programme;
- The candidates should compulsorily have completed an NCTE recognized teacher education programme like TCH/D.Ed./D.El.Ed., B.El.Ed., etc. through face-to-face mode;
- The candidate should continue to work in a recognized institution at the time of admission. If selected, he/she must produce a Service Certificate to that effect from the Head of the Institution, where the candidate is working. The application of such candidates shall be submitted to the University for B.Ed. admission through proper channels.
- Such candidates shall submit their application to the University for B.Ed. admission through proper channels.
- There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/Cat-1/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of State Government, whichever is applicable.
- Master’s Degree without a bachelor’s degree will not be accepted for the purpose of this B.Ed. programme.
The candidates will be selected on the basis of the available category-wise seats for the concerned course in the University. The seat matrix for all the categories is as given in the image below:
There will be one paper which will contain 100 multiple choice question with four different options. It will be held for 2 hours with the following marking scheme:

The result for the CET examination will be declared for the candidates who will appear for the examination. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in the B.Ed examination. On the basis of this merit list, the candidates will get admission for the offered course.
In case, more than one candidate will score identical marks in the Common Entrance Test will be placed in the merit list according to their date of birth.
Selection Process for B.Ed Admission 2017
The selection of the eligible candidates for the admission to the course offered by the University will be based on the seat matrix for reservation and marks obtained by the candidates in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Mangalore University.
On the basis of the merit list prepared in order of the merit obtained by the candidates in the test, the selected candidates will be called for the pre-admission counselling. During the counselling process, the candidates will be required to verify the documents and pay the required fee through the challan. The candidates will be allotted study centres strictly according to this Merit List and according to the rules of reservation. Once the study centre will be allotted, it will not be changed in the middle of the course.
