Steps for Filling Online Application

Online Registration is a 6 Step process. All Six (6) Steps of Online Registration Process should be completed before the closing date as per the Advertisement. To avoid last day rush and disappointment, it is advisable to complete online registration well before the closing date.Incomplete application form or with wrong or deliberately concealed information is liable to be straight away rejected without any intimation.

Step 1.

  • Registration: Applicant should fill correct basic details like Course applied for, Name, DOB, Address, Category, Gender, Applied under, Contact No. etc. subsequently.
  • After completion of 1st Step of Registration, Applicant will get SMS and Email intimating about Login Credentials (If Email is not received, Call Helpline immediately).
  • Login with the credentials provided and change password on the first-time login. Password length should be between 8-10 characters. Please remember your password and do not share it with others.

Step 2.

  • Qualification Details: Fill correct Academic Details like Undergraduate Examination, Internship, and Medical Registration details etc.

Step 3.

  • City Choice: Select Examination Centre City from city availability list (city availability list shows the real-time status of seats. A city once selected and submitted cannot be changed.

Step 4.

  • Fee Payment: Payment of Registration Fee can only be done online through Debit card/Credit card and Internet Banking. Take the printout of Payment Receipt generated and complete further steps of the registration process.
  • After successful payment of registration fees, My Page will be generated for each applicant bearing his/her entire information as filled by him/her along with a Unique Registration Number which the applicant can use for future correspondence. My Page will provide information regarding Due Steps (those have to be completed before registration closing date).

Step 5.

  • Upload Images: Applicant is required to upload a recently taken Photograph, Signature and Left Thumb Impression in JPG/ JPEG format. The digital size of the image files must be between 10 KB-100 KB, failing which applicant will not be able to upload images and complete registration process. The photograph to be uploaded must be clicked within 6 months from online registration opening date.
  • Applicant should take print of registration form and must check all information filled in the form carefully before final submission of registration form. After submission of the form, no request for correction/changes will be entertained. Taking print of Registration Form is essential.
  • No written acknowledgment will be issued for the receipt of registration/application. However, the applicant can verify application status on www.aiimsexams.org after submission of registration form.
  • Applicant need not send hard copy of registration Form or any other document to Exam Section, AIIMS. Always keep Registration Form and payment receipt with you for future references.
  • Read Advertisement, Prospectus and User Manual carefully before filling up the Online Registration Form.
  • Before proceeding to register for AIIMS Ph.D. July 2018, you must ensure that you have read and understood the eligibility criteria of course for which you intend to take Entrance Examination as your form can be rejected at any stage due to ineligibility.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

Medical Qualification: MBBS / BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/ DM/MCh in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination. Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.

Nursing Qualification: Candidates holding M.Sc degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Speciality will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in College of Nursing.

Non-Medical: For non-medical candidates, eligibility shall be Master’s Degree (two years course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per requirement of the project. Candidates holding M.Sc. (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) M.Tech. degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category.

Candidate possessing Masters Degree through distant learning course shall not be eligible.

While seeking project details from the department, the desired qualification of Masters Degree to be suitable for project work should be mentioned by the respective department. The same will be displayed along with Number of Seats & Department.

Candidate having eligibility under non-medical category should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified.

The non-medical candidates should have preferably qualified in any one of the following national entrance tests in the last 2 years:

  • Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF
  • ICMR – JRF
  • ICMR- SRF
  • DBT – JRF
  • DBT – SRF
  • NBHM screening test
  • Graduate aptitude test (GATE)
  • INSPIRE fellowship
  • UGC – JRF
  • UGC – SRF
  • CSIR – JRF
  • CSIR – SRF
  • DST – JRF
  • DST – SRF

Admit Card

Downloadable Admit cards of all the eligible candidates will be available on website aiimsexams.org. All the candidates are advised to download their Admit Cards from the website as per the schedule. It must be noted that the Admit Cards will not be sent By Post. For more details regarding the admit cards candidates may visit the “admit card” page provided in the Quick links section above.

Result

Final results for all courses will also be displayed on the Notice Board of Examination Section, at AIIMS, New Delhi. The result will be declared Department-wise. AIIMS Result will also be available on AIIMS website at www.aiimsexams.org and www.aiims.edu. Candidate can check all the details regarding the results from the “Result” page provided in the Quick Links section above.

Note: All seats in a single code number (each Department is assigned one Code Number) will be clubbed and candidates qualifying for each Department will be offered the project of their choice (within that Department) based on their merit and eligibility.

Selection Process

Selection for Ph.D. registration will be through a three-stage performance evaluation as under:

(i) Medical / Dental/Nursing candidates

Stage I: 30 Marks (30 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Aptitude related MCQs covering English (written and verbal skills), Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Cell Biology, Lab Technology etc.

Stage II: 40 Marks (40 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Subject related theory based comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of MD/MS/MDS/M.Sc. Entrance level.

  • Total Marks : 70 (30+40) – Stage I & II
  • Total Duration: 90 Minutes – Stage I & II

Note: 

  • Candidates must score at least 35 marks in stages I and II (combined) to be eligible for stage III. Candidates who do not fulfill the criteria to qualify for stage III will not be eligible for selection.
  • The Special Weightage of 10 marks will be added to the total score of Stages I and II for candidates who fulfill both the following criteria:
    • they are eligible for stage III
    • they also hold a Medical Degree (MBBS/ BDS/ MDS/ DNB/ MD/ MS/ DM/ M.Ch.) or M.Sc. (Nursing) or equivalent.

Stage III: Out of the candidates who secured 50 percent or above in the written test (Stage-I & II plus the special weightage), candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks).

(ii) Non-Medical candidates

Stage I: 30 Marks (30 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Aptitude related MCQs covering English (written and verbal skills), Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Cell Biology, Lab Technology etc.

Stage II: 40 Marks (40 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Subject related

  • Total Marks : 70 (30+40) – Stage I & II
  • Total Duration: 90 Minutes – Stage I & II

Stage III: Out of the candidates who secured 50 percent or above in the written test (Stage-I & II plus the special weightage), candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks).

Candidates who have qualified in any one of the following entrance tests in the last 2 years will be given a weightage of (10 marks). Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICMR-SRF, DBT-JRF, DBT-SRF, NBHM screening test, Graduate aptitude test (GATE), INSPIRE fellowship, UGC-JRF, UGC-SRF, CSIR-JRF, CSIR-SRF, DST-JRF, DST-SRF. However, the marks of special weightage will only be added to those candidates who will secure more than 50% or above marks in written test (Stage I & II separately) to determine the merit.
