DTE Maharashtra shall conduct MHT CET 2018 as per new syllabus. Moreover, date of MHT CET 2018 exam will be in the month of May. Also referred to as MH CET, Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is for admission to First Year Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D programs. Government, Govt. Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State offer admission on basis of CET score / rank. New CET syllabus comprises of some topics from 11th syllabus in addition to all topics of physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology from 12th MSBSHSE syllabus. If you want to get admission in first year of BE / B.Tech, B.Pharmacy, Pharm.d, then you must appear in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. Candidates are requested to note that MHT CET 2018 is not for medical (MBBS) admission. The expected dates related to this exam are as follows.

Changes in MHT CET 2018
- Only 20% weightage will be of class 11th syllabus. Rest 80%, is of class 12th syllabus.
- DTE Maharashtra has decided to bring the difficulty level of MHT CET – physics, chemistry, mathematics papers to that of the national level engineering entrance exam JEE Main. By the same token, difficulty level of biology paper will be comparable to national level medical entrance exam NEET. Both these exams, JEE Main and NEET, are currently organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

Eligibility Criteria for MH CET 2018
Following is an expected eligibility criteria list based on last year Maharashtra engineering admission / MHT CET eligibility.
- Candidate should have passed / is appearing class 12 exam.
- Candidate should be an Indian national.

- Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National (exempt from Maharashtra Common Entrance Test).

Refer MSBSHSE syllabus. Questions in physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology will be from Maharashtra HSC syllabus. MHT CET 2018 syllabus consists of complete syllabus of class 12, and only certain topics of class 11.

MHT CET 2018 Application Form
Date of availability
Last time also the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test was held in May and its form was available from February. Thus, this time also the application form of MHT CET 2018 is likely to be available from mid-February 2018.
How to apply?
As soon as the form is available, candidates can register at dtemaharashtra.gov.in and confirm it. Application form will be available in online mode. To register, enter personal details including a valid email id, personal mobile. Upload recent colour photograph in light / white background (15 – 50 kb), signature in black pen on white paper (05 – 20 kb).
Last date to apply
Usually a time window of more than one month is given to apply. Even after that there is some time in which candidates can apply with late fee. However, it is advisable to not wait for the last minute, and apply early.
Last time the application fee was Rs 800 for all General category candidates, all Outside Maharashtra State candidates, JnK migrants. The fee amount was Rs 600 for SC, ST, VJ/DT – NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC, PWD belonging to Maharashtra state only.
MHT CET Admit Card 2018
You can download the admit card of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test 2018 after submission of application form. It is not immediately available after submitting the form.
Last year the exam was on May 11, and admit card released on April 24. This shows that DTE Maharashtra usually releases CET Admit Card more than two weeks before exam.
The official website for MHT CET 2018 Admit Card download will be same as the one for registration, dtemaharashtra.gov.in. You must log in using application number, password to download it. Take it to exam centre on day of exam.
Allocation of exam centre
MHT CET 2018 is looked forward to be conducted at district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra. Usually centre of examination is same district from where the candidate has passed or is appearing in qualifying examination. DTE Maharashtra allots centre of examination; it is conveyed through admit card.
MHT CET Result 2018
DTE Maharashtra is expected to announce result of the Common Entrance Test in June.
The exam conducting body looks after organizing the exam at all assigned centres, evaluation of answer sheets, and thereafter declaration of results.
Candidates can check their result at dtemaharashtra.gov.in.
Prior to publishing result, DTE Maharashtra might also release official answer keys. Candidates can use the answer key to know answers of all questions and estimate score. Last year candidates were also given the facility to see their OMR sheets by logging in using application number and password.
Once the result is out, candidates can download mark sheets from website. There will be document verification and publishing of merit lists on basis of result of MHT CET 2018. Candidates will be invited to apply for admission.

Note for Maharashtra Engineering Admission 2018 for All India Quota
Allotment for All India Quota seats is usually on basis of JEE Main.
If seats remain vacant for any reason then they may be shifted to state quota seats. A notice regarding AIQ admissions will be released in some time and then you can get a better idea of how to proceed for admissions.
